Imagehost Problems, Imagebam, Imagevenue, PimpAndHost, PixHost, ImgBox etc - Page 6

I'm having a problem with pictures that have been uploaded to Imagevenue. (Not uploaded by me.)

When I click on a picture in someone's post, instead of giving me a full-sized image as it has always done, it takes me to this URL:

http://img230.imagevenue.com/uploadimg.php

Which is a blank screen.

(The number is not always "230", it's different each time).

What's going on? Thanks for any help.

That's not a blank screen for me Muff.
Although I did see that Firefox is preventing a pop-up...
Usually when I am not logged into Imagevenue this occurs,
followed by a splash advert message which comes up
and at the top is a heading to simply click >>Skip this Ad.

Might be a flash or java issue, if you are seeing blank, and not the advert.
Guess they have to have sponsors to stay free.
I try to stay logged in to IV when online here @VEF.

I've been seeing a lot of complaints about ImageVenue in other forums as well. They've been very slow loading pics for some months now as well as losing a lot of uploaded files. (I've seen posts where as much as 10% of the links generate "file not found"/"file not on this server" errors.) Over the last couple of weeks they have been implementing more and more intrusive ads and measures to slow access to files. I think they've been operating beyond capacity for a while and have suddenly realized just how far beyond capacity and how much its going to cost to catch up but that's just my personal opinion.

Surprisingly, many over look the IV adult image hosting policy.

The "What's This?" disclaimer clearly states
the adult images not marked as such, will be deleted.

We recently had a simular topic on ImageVenue:

They started adding some extra ads on what looked to be random uploads, perhaps thats causing Mufflover's problems not all browsers where affected by it.

I sometimes get "This image does not exist on this server" for single images of a whole set. If the "uploader" marked the images not correctly I would expect that I can't load any image of the set.

Obviously IV needs sponsors etc to keep it free for mainiacs like us

But could they not stick that wretched 'skip-this-ad' malarky in a side-banner or something? And then some Geeky-type could devise something to block that as well?

ImageVenue looses images over time thats a fact still it is one of the better imagehosts imo.

When you use Internet Explorer then add:

*.imagevenue.com

to the "restricted websites" of Internet Explorer like explained here that will prevent a lot imho.

When you use Firefox then NoScript should do the trick.

DubSalute, I know that all hosts "lose" files over time. What I've seen happening with ImageVenue lately is the loss of up to 1 in 10 non-adult files uploaded less than 24 hours prior.
