Ladies and gentlemen, I offer pictures of Ms. McGowan in the outfit she wore while going on an extended rant about being sexually abused and harassed in Hollywood.

That almond Soya milk sucks dead donkey dicks

Ok ok , the above statement might not completely be true in a literal sense

Although one thing it can do is ruin a coffee

It also stopped the demerara sugar dissolving

Tried to take a photo to show what I mean.

Did everybody already know sugar won't dissolve in a liquid no matter how hot, provided Soya is in the mix

If not , spread the word

Oh and stay away from that insult to Milk-kind

I'm really getting that now since she keeps making headlines the last week.

Yesterday I learned some facts about Road House. I read the IMDB trivia page of it while I was on the toilet, it was the last movie I watched in 2017. Basically, the trivia I read made me love the movie more because the physicality was so real according to the trivia, and I already thought it was real enough. I appreciate that, and I think that's why it holds up strongly, because on paper, it shouldn't.

The biggest takeaway was how much pain Patrick Swayze endured, to the point where he thought he wouldn't finish the movie. It cost him jobs for Predator 2 and Tango & Cash, and instead, he took up Ghost. He had a knee injury from this movie and couldn't accept physically straining roles. The person who choreographed the fights, Benny Urqiduez (who battled with Jackie Chan in two of the best fight scenes ever in Wheels on Meals and Dragons Forever), said that Swayze could've done well in professional kickboxing, his own field. I believe that.

One little curiosity about Road House is about the Carrie Ann character, who was featured in the first couple scenes in Jasper, MO. She sang with the Jeff Healey band, brought Dalton some breakfast and saw him get out of bed naked (lucky woman). Just by those scenes and the interactions with Dalton, I wanted them to hook-up, it almost looked like that was the plan, because it does take a while until Doc comes into the picture. But after that breakfast scene, she's gone. Apparently there were a lot of scenes of her that was cut out from the final print. The original cut was 2 and a half hours. Apparently some of the cut content were in a trailer for the movie, which is funny because then audience members would've watched the film and notice none of that stuff was in the final cut. I do like the Doc/Dalton pairing, but Carrie Ann had potential, she just looked so cute.

The best fight scene of course was Jimmy and Dalton, and I learned they did that 71 times! No wonder it was so good! Also, Marshall Teague, that fucker Jimmy, used a real log to hit Dalton, Swayze thought it was a prop. It wasn't. And according to IMDB, the wounds Swayze suffered indicated that the guns and knives used were real? I read two gunshot wounds, several knife puncture wounds, 4 steel screws, 31 broken bones. That's insane.

Anyways, now it's a duty to watch that movie every year, as the last viewing was 2015. That was my first time viewing, so it was long enough to forget and basically watch the movie fresh all over again on New Year's Eve. It's an awesome movie, and it's not "So bad it's good," or even strongly cheesy. It's a legitimately good film, I don't understand how it got Razzies and shit. At least it's a certified cult classic.

I hadn't used Netflix since Valentine's Day last year, I watched Way of the Dragon. I dusted off Netflix to watch Mighty Morphin Power Rangers today. I've seen the first 5 episodes and will probably watch all of the Mighty Morphin era. I kind of built up a TV show queue, preventing me from watching movies. 99% of them are anime, I'm 2 episodes + an OVA away from finishing Kill La Kill for example, and now I want to squeeze Power Rangers in, I want to watch Bojack Horsemen, Assassination Classroom, re-watch Space Dandy and Prison School, watch Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt, My Hero Acadamia, it's crazy.

For some reason Netflix skips the Power Rangers opening theme every time I load up an episode, and it defaults to Spanish. I think because someone's been using my profile and played stuff in Spanish, it's a shared account and we're all Latinos, so yeah. Still, why does it skip the opening theme? It's one of the best parts of the show. I always have to rewind and switch to English.

So what I learned from that little marathon. The intro video does not play in the first episode, but the theme song does pop up in the middle of it. I'm kind of echoing trivia I picked up from the Cinemassacre coverage of the series, but the recycled footage from Super Sentai really does wear on me. I'm used to that with weekly anime, like Dragon Ball Super, where they re-use certain shots and animation bits. Here they keep using the same footage of the Dino Zords coming together, same footage of them yelling out their animals, same footage of a lot of things when the final fight stuff comes in. Still, I enjoyed it, TV budget, weekly thing, it's really impressive how the practical effects come off. Dated, absolutely, but given the circumstances, it's still admirable. Plus, the show's only 20 minutes per episode, that's shorter than an anime episode, and I'm counting the opening and closing songs, take those out, each episode probably would've been 19 minutes. It moves so fast as a result, if I hadn't stopped, I probably would've been at episode 10 already. Fast paced show, and with all the effects and music, I do get sensory deprivation a bit. It's probably how the show stayed strong with kids, they were brainwashed by the lights.

As an adult, I still get brainwashed, but pick up on the really dodgy things, the acting is terrible, the dubbing is awful, but there's so much charm and heart that it doesn't turn me off from the show. Really annoying bits like Alpha 5 the stupid "Aye yaye yaye" robot, and Bulk and Skull, somehow don't hurt the show overall. I'm brainwashed to let them slide. This marathon made me remember that I definitely watched the first movie more than the show because the difference in quality and budget, is massive, even though the movie had some of the worst CGI ever, which I forgot, but recently saw images of it, and yeah, ugly. I know I watched a tiny bit of Lost Galaxy, and the crossover they did with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but that's it. Who knows where this resurgence in Power Rangers interest will lead me? I'll probably end up watching the 2017 movie soon now that I'm back into this franchise.

One last thing, I learned that Tarantino didn't only choke Diane Kruger...Jesus.

Oh man, I don't make my own coffee often, it's made for me, even though I prefer making my own. Lately some almond soy milk has been added and it's, err, not that great. Soy milk as itself on coffee is great, makes it more creamy than just regular white milk, and not needing creamer. I'd recommend Splenda brown sugar substitute, better than regular brown sugar and white.

I learned today that good people make the best of the facts they have, as they try to be kind.

My father in law died last week. He was a bad father and an even worse husband. But he was a good doctor, did good things for his town, and his kids turned out to be well-liked. The tributes are pouring in now from good people, and their tributes focus on the good side of the man, not his bad. And kind condolences to his well-liked kids. Very decent of these kind people. Most know he was a bastard, a sociopath, and a womanizer in his private life, but now's not the time to say it.

May the man rest in peace though.

I finished Kill La Kill today, amazing anime, so I can basically focus on just Power Rangers for the time being. I made it to episode 15, episode 14 featured Bryan Cranston doing the voice of Snizzard, half snake and lizard. Honestly you can't tell it's him, he just put on a voice. I learned that they do credit the voices at the end, but they move so quick that it's easy to miss them. I really wanted to learn about Rita's voice, and stumbled upon a Q&A panel from LexCon last year on Youtube. I think it was recommended to me because it had the American voice for Goku, Sean Schemmel, joining him were Steve Blum (Cowboy Bebop and loads of other stuff), Zach Callison (Steven Universe), and Barbara Goodson, the voice of Rita! I learned too that Blum was the voice of Goku in some obscure Playstation game, before Sean Schemmel voiced him in Dragon Ball Z. Apparently it sucked, I would imagine, there's only one English voice for Goku.

And Barbara Goodson participated in the Harmony Gold Dub of Dragon Ball, she voiced Goku, but he was named "Zero," and this was kid Goku and it was for the first 2 Dragon Ball movies. Not only that, since they were done in the 80s, these were the first English dubbed Dragon Ball stuff! That's just insane how I get this trivia, and it all started with watching Power Rangers. I saw a clip of this dub, and she sounded just right for kid Goku. The definitive English voice for him is Stephanie Nadolny, but still this was alight.

After that I googled Saban, who made Power Rangers, and I thought they were Japanese. They're an Israeli based company, and basically are well known for adapting Tokusatsu films, Japanese movies that rely on special effects, i.e. Godzilla and Power Rangers. The source of Power Rangers' recycled footage is Super Sentai, which was made by Toei. I thought it was all under one brand, Saban, but nah. Toei's animation studio made the Dragon Ball anime, so I know who they are, they seem to have such a long reach.

I typed this while watching Power Rangers, this show is perfect for multitasking. Something that bothers me a bit is Billy (Blue Ranger), while these guys aren't martial arts masters, it's kind of funny that they have to be in the suits to be pretty talented at fighting. This episode I'm watching, 15, had Billy trying to get back into Karate, he gets some help from Trini's (Yellow Ranger) uncle. Ah well, I hope this means Billy can fight more, he gets a Yellow Belt at the end of this. Actually I doubt that, they tend to drop subjects after each episode. Billy's girlfriend in episode 13, she's gone at episode 14 for example. The deaf girl they gave some love and shine to? She appears in just one episode! It's funny.

I do like trying to catch what parts have the American actors in the suits, instead of it being Super Sentai footage. One example, when the Blue Ranger chats with the girlfriend, that is definitely Billy, the girlfriend's American after all. I just made it to episode 16 and Billy and Kimberly (Pink Ranger, Amy Jo Johnson, the most lovely Ranger ever) switch places because of Billy's invention (stereotypes galore, nerd, white Urkel). Between that and an earlier episode where those two are turned into "punks," I find them the funniest in the show. I was laughing my ass off in the Punks episode, the two most innocent members of the team being bad kids, the acting was hilariously bad, which is saying something since it's already hilariously bad throughout the whole show.

Also through watching the show, it's clear they had some skill in incorporating Super Sentai footage into Power Rangers, like when Kimberly's trapped in an airplane, they use footage of the Rangers, save for the Pink one. Then at the end, the Pink Ranger comes to save the day, she gets shine in the footage, and it's tied to Kimberly saving her friends. For the 90s, the budget, all those factors, that's so impressive. There should be a documentary on this franchise, this year is its 25 year anniversary, the first episode aired in August 1993, 7 months after I was born. I've watched the Cinemassacre reviews of Power Rangers many times, just being fascinated by how the show came together on a weekly basis.

As much repetition is in the show, the one thing I struggle with is remembering the order of their morphin time bit. I know Tyrannosaurus is always last, since it's the Red Ranger's one. Oh, I just made it to the Rangers being in Zordon's place, that's another easy way to tell it's the American actors in the suits. They really quick cut and sped through the fights scenes in this episode. Blink and you miss a fight scene, jeez.'

One thing I just learned about Power Rangers, the voice of Goldar, one of Rita Repulsa's henchman, is the same person. My issue with this character is the voice seems to change every episode, from bland villain voice to something more over the top and sounding a bit like Patrick from Spongebob. I thought it was two actors, but nope. Damn guy is inconsistent, I prefer the over the top voice. Kerrigan Mahan is the actor, but he's credited under a more American name, Ryan O'Flannigan. Okay, Irish, whatever. I also appreciate the dubbing of Rita. I love the voice, and they really got Goodson's voice to go well along with the mouth flaps. It's not perfect though, but good enough. She never shares the screen with the Rangers, so it's obvious the body is part of the Super Sentai footage, the voice of course isn't. Almost all her scenes in her lair fade to black, to me it indicates they really chop that footage to fit it into the episodes, some of the footage is repeated a few times throughout the show too.

Anyways, rambling. Oh shit, episode 17, I'm on that now, the debut of Tommy, the most famous Power Ranger, played by Jason David Frank. He was originally the Green Ranger, evil under Rita's control, turns good, loses his power, comes back as the White Ranger, which is the one I know the most. I remember him the most from the Mighty Morphin movie, cool. They did the "Introducing as" bit too. Him and Austin St. John (Jason the Red Ranger) are the most legit in martial arts, they have a Karate tournament match here, pretty nice.
