Jack Chick, Age 92. Died Sunday in California. If you ever found a wild, fundamentalist cartoon pamphlet stashed in your hotel room or at your school, this guy wrote it. He was hardcore pentacostal fundamentalist Christian, and his religious tracts - all in cartoon form - attacked every religion, institution, lifestyle and philosophy that wasn't.
As a boy I used to see his tracts back in the 60s and early 70s, including at my church. My favorites? "SOMEBODY GOOFED!" (Guy A meets Guy B who gets both of them killed. But not before Guy B talks Guy A out of accepting Jesus. Both Guys land in Hell... Guy A blames Guy B. Guy B takes off his mask, reveals himself to be one of Satan's demons, and says "I DIDN'T GOOF... YOU GOOFED! YOU DIDN'T ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR!"); "THE GAY BLADE" (Homosexuals are sick perverts); "BIG DADDY?" (Evolution is a fraud, and a brave young Christian student proves it to his arrogant, Hell-bound teacher); and "THIS WAS YOUR LIFE" (Hedonistic man dies, St Peter takes him before God who shows Hedonistic man scenes from his sinful, non-Jesus accepting life, St Peter tells God Hedonistic man's name does not appear in the Book of Life, and then God tells St Peter to cast Hedonistic man into Hell). Yea, this guy was tons of fun at parties... |

Actor Michael Massee has passed away at age 64.
Known for appearing in Se7en, Supernatural, The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2, he was perhaps most infamously known for being the man who killed Brandon Lee in The Crow when he fired a gun that should have only been blanks, but was not properly checked beforehand. Lee's death affected Massee greatly and he took a year off from acting as a result. Massee spoke fluent French and was co-owner of a clothing store in Los Angeles with his wife.
