GIF Size Limit?
I did a search of this forum and couldn't find mention of this. Is there a limit?
I ask because I ran across six GIFs of the GOT scene where a body double takes a walk with Lena Headey's face CGI-ed on to it. Sizes range from 11 to 16 MB. |

No size limit that I know of. However, per the forum rules :
The Funnies Section is the only area Animated GIFs are allowed to be directly posted. Any Animated GIFs posted in any other part of the Forum (including Visitor Messages) must only contain the link to the GIF.

Hi
Do you mean watching them,or uploading to a filehost? Imgbox and Imagebam have a limit of 10MB for Gifs,so I don´t think you can upload larger ones there,I can´t cause I´ve tried. Maybe some other filehost can provide you with larger MB space for Gifs. Cheers. |

TF - Thanks for the post, I had meant posting them here at VEF, hadn't considered that ImageBam would be the limiting factor...

For large gifs you probably should upload them like they are a video, and post the link and a cap to show what it looks like.

I have a GIF I want to post on a VEF animated GIFs thread but it is too large (just over 10 MB) to upload via ImageBam or similar. I should point out that I did not personally create this GIF, it was sent to me as part of an exchange with another collector. Is there any way I can split this GIF into two smaller ones so that they can be uploaded or is there another Image Host acceptable to VEF which will allow a larger file to be uploaded? I don't really want to convert it to a video file such as .AVI or purchase a Premium account with a host.
