I've got a question for all of you (right like left people).
What are your fears for the next generations? Mine are quite simple : Environmental problems (global warming, overpopulation, massive pollution, destruction of biodiversities and ecosystems) I'm not afraid by religions, because if we really manage to give a good education based on science to all the children, religions will maybe not disappear, but will have less fanatics. I'm not afraid by unemployment, because our countries can create a new form of economy and money.... What means money? Money is one of the worst lie on this planet. But... environmental problems are worrying my mind. I, maybe arrogantly, would like to let a world as nice and interesting as I lived when I was a child. Sadly it seems to me that could be less and less the fact. We even maybe are on the border to extinct our own species in a near future. For sure, if we react like extreme-right people by closing the doors, the problems will not be solved. If we react like the communists who don't really care about environmental problems and are more preoccupied by classes, the problems will not be solved too. If we react like Wall Street traders we will be fucked soon. That's my points of view. And you surely know how ecologists want to resolve the problems. Now are your fears like mine or different? Don't you think that we could find together solutions of your fears? |

I think that Britain's system of allowing injured parties to sue polluters is better than America's system of mostly EPA bureaucracy. I have a cousin who married someone who's an environmental consultant, and she thought that some of the bureaucracy was "crazy".
I'm more of a free market environmentalist, yet at the same time, I think that elements of the Green Party are correct. Humanity uses too much energy for transportation, power generation, etc. so we will have to find energy that doesn't contribute to climate change or resource depletion. My solutions to these eco-problems are more recycled products (to create a market for our weekly recyclables), nanotechnology, and Tesla energy (aka. "wireless electricity" and "free energy") I'm not into vegetarianism or veganism, though, because I see that Native Americans lived in harmony with the Earth for thousands of years, while still hunting and eating some meat. The failure of America to generate a long-term plan to fix these problems is made worse by the Republican and Democratic Parties, who are mostly concerned with winning elections. Third parties like the Green Party (environmentalists and freethinkers) and Libertarian Party (free marketeers who still want pollution to be illegal and corporations to lose their special privileges) are the way of the future. Whereas, the Demopublicans want to conspire with each other to keep third parties off the ballot. I'd rather live in a political system more like Canada where several political parties share power, and I wonder how it could be done without having public financing of elections; we currently have federal matching funds for qualifying candidates. These are just my thoughts to add to the above political statements. |

You completely ignore human history. Borders have been changing for long before there was written history. They change for many reasons, armed conflict, purchases, ect. Your Natives argument only holds water if you IGNORE history. The Fact is the United States is a sovereign nation. If you insist on calling us thieves are you going to apply the same standard to every time a border has changed through out history or does that only apply to the evil capitalist United States? Quote:
"Little Children"? Really do you have any idea how offensive that is? While we maybe a relatively young nation we are 241 years old. Our nation has changed, we have corrected injustices and though we are not perfect we are far from Little Children. Quote:
So conservatives believe in capitalism therefor we hold common ground with Islamists? WTF? Serrious? The whole idea of equality of the classes is a non starter to begin with. There has never been nor will there ever be "Equality of the Classes". This is nothing more than a liberal, leftists, Marxists, socialist, communist Utopian pipe dream. Site one time in history where there was anything close to equality amongst the classes? Are the starving masses in North Korea of an equal class with Kim Jung-Un? Are the Cubans who risk life and limb to cross 90 miles of open ocean on homemade rafts of an equal class with the Castro brothers? I can go on and on. If equality of the classes is your goal it is never going to happen. An undeniable truth of life: Life is NOT Fair. There will always be the haves and have nots. Sorry to have to break it to you but most of us learned that at a much earlier age. Quote:

Integrist? No idea what you meant here but you do realize the right, conservatism is far from exclusive to Christianity and that there are conservatives of all faiths. Not worth dignifying with a reply. WTF? That makes no sense at all. Quote:

I ain't gonna use the immigration thing, but we know I like immigration, just not illegal and won't be selective. Nope, I'll take this elsewhere, Gay Marriage. Right here right now in Oz it's an issue, out idiot parliament have been turning the issue into a political football for their own gains. I've a very close life long Mate who's Gay, If you met him you'd never know he's Gay, none of the usual Gay stereotypes fit him, apart from being a little to clean He isn't the typical Marriage equality activists, in fact he takes, like me, the I don't care approach. If it came down to a referendum on the issue here he'd vote for it and he knows that it makes no difference to me and though I'd more than likely vote against it ( I'm Catholic ) it has never and never will damage our mateship, one that goes back to since we didn't even know what sex was. Then comes this, I have been called a homophobe just because I've said I probably will vote against it .... by typical leftists. Now how the hell am I a homophobe when I haven't abandoned a Mate who's Gay and one who accepts my opinion of I don't really care attitude That's the kind of thing that has turned me away from the left to an extent over the years, they're way to quick to label anyone something if you're not on their side ..... Oh, I've also been called a climate change denier But a racist, never

A few words on the subject that will be quickly forgotten. The main target of true left-wing politics is a balancing social justice, not a theoretical equality of classes, which admittedly represents an unattainable pie in the sky. True left-wing politics is about the real evil, which identifies itself as the ever widening wealth gap that increasingly divides capitalist societies by blindly following a set pattern to a point at which the accumulated social and material injustice unloads with destructive force. There is a different definition of the 'haves and have nots' under a well oiled Guillotine, you know. I'm sure you learned that from history as well. But it's quite questionable whether this is possible under the current circumstances, within an economic order that basically corresponds to a Ponzi scheme. Of course there are always those who will defend this Ponzi scheme with all their might, only from my cold dead hands so to speak, but, in the end it's always just a couple dozen haves + their evil sidekicks among a few million have nots. Or approximately 1%. Which is quite manageable. Btw, the biggest environmental problems are war and poverty. Everything else is just part of the resulting causation chain. If we want to change something, it is not sufficient to fight symptoms. |

My mother, bless her 85-year-old heart, is enmeshed in social media's predecessor - television. Many times I've had to listen to opinions which have become vehemently hers; somehow translated into concrete facts, brought to her by CNN and The View. |
