What gets my goat is when we get a little sunshine all these silly men over 40 appear in public in shorts and sandals. Their horrible pasty white legs and beer bellies should not been seen. They drive to tesco and fill a trolley full of cheap larger and sausages/burgers for a back yard barbie, the smell of which stinks the entire neighbourhood. Thankgod guns are illegal here!

Windows Vista et al.
I was obviously getting complacent. Windows 2003 was starting to get more and more accessible. It was time to bring on the heavy guns: Windows Vista!
Downloading film or music is once again a rodeo. I had to re-install Office Outlook because Windows Mail is a bag of arse. Excel 2007 spreadsheets are just as bad: you waste a lifetime looking for Format Cells because the icons are so well designed Whose idea was Windows Vista etc and where does he (they) live? |

Public transport
Today I had to catch a bus for the first time in years, the driver was the most surly, unpleasant, unhelpful individual I have set eyes on for a long time I got the bus from my home in Kippax to Garforth, possibly 2.1/2 miles and it cost me £3. My car does 30 mpg, 1/2 a gallon of petrol = £2.50, = 15 miles. When I got off the bus, it was pulling away before my heel left the step An altogether unpleasant experience (The only good thing was being able to have 5 pints of Guinness before going home) |

Public Transport
You'll always get the odd bad apple driving, if he's just had a bus load of pimply school kids all giving him lip he may not be in the nest of moods. I used public transport for 18 months recently and most of the annoying experiences I had were with the selfish behaviour of other passengers.
The price has to depend on where you live though, most shorter journeys are more expensive a 2 mile trip for me is around £1.50 but a 7 or 8 mile trip is only £2.50 but if you get a day pass which costs £3.80 you can ride any of that transport companies buses that day. The condition of many of the buses does need attention, broken seats and litter dropped by loutish passengers and the insides of the windows never seem to get cleaned. I caught the London underground for the first time in ages last year and it's an old cliche but people do not talk. I had an Iron Maiden shirt on as I'd just seen them at Twickenham and a Welsh guy saw it and we had a conversation about music and where we lived for about half an hour, never seen him before and probably never will again. Some of the other passengers must have thought we were freaks, come on Londoners chill out a little. |

US postal services
International shipping with internet purchases in the US. Buying is easy, but the shipping procedure for larger packages is a hindrance, and a smooth and quick delivery to Europe seems to be only available at an extremely high price..

Small thing but that VISA advert with the guy on crutches nipping in and out of shops has now run the gamut from hey! to hmmm Ok and now is at oh no!
Larger thing, why can't DVLA get their act together re uninsured drivers, it looks like the woman involved in the recent hit and run killing ran away as she was not insured. It's cases like this that are truly sad as no one wins and it just shows the failsafes in the system are inadequate. Stop wasting tax-payers money on adverts warning of crushing the cars of non-payers and just get the job done. My car is fully taxed and insured but I've had 2 letters from DVLA in recent weeks asking the same thing and have been advised the second one was sent in error as my reply may have been scanned but not updated. I even confirmed the information they had over the phone and it tallied with my records, it's unprofessional folks get your act together. |
