The best thing is that her real name is Susan Richter, and even better, she is the sister of NHL goalie Marc Richter.

Phyliss Partin (July '85 POM) was my wife from 1981 until she passed on January 16th, 2001. Yes, we were married when she posed for PH. But as we were both nudists it was an easy thing to do. Anyway ... the PH editors used only a couple items from the form she completed for PH about her life and her history.

I could not agree with you more. My wife (Phyliss Partin - Miss July 1985) never would have done the stuff the current models do. We were both avowed nudists ... so being in the magazine was a no brainer considering the money. But we never would have done it 10-15 years later when only porn stars would.

Interesting story, I was a PH subscriber in the 90's, when they went HC. When that happened, out of loyalty, I gave the editors a couple of years to tone it down, because that's not what I want from a magazine. Of course, that never happened, so I called to cancel my subscription. The phone rep started asking me to take a discounted subscription, I said no. Then, an extended "trial" subscription was offered, I said no. Then, the phone rep asked, "You've been a subscriber for several years now. Is there something about the magazine you don't like?"

"Uh, yeah, all of the hardcore crap."

The rep replied, "Yeah, we get that a lot."

While I think a lot of the porn stars in the magazine were very beautiful, and would have been excellent models for PH's old softer style, it's all about how they're presented. They were presented as hardcore-only models, in a hardcore fashion. While I'll always prefer PB, the original PH style was extraordinarily distinctive & erotic.
