I know a parent of a transgender person. It is a deeply distressing situation. The parent must balance love for the child with fearing that a great mistake is being made and that the well being of the child is being put in grave danger by their decision.

I also know parents whose children have enlisted in the Army and are being deployed to Afghanistan. Being a parent is certainly not easy on one's emotional life.

I am offended by the current media issue of Trump's phonecall to the family of LaDavid Johnson, an African-American Green Beret who was killed in combat on the continent of Africa. I don't even know the specifics of the controversy, and I just think it's another "scandal" that FOX News (my parents' favorite station) can't shut up about. Of course, people must immediately think it's a black-versus-white issue, or a Republican-versus-Democrat issue. The media are using the tragic death of Johnson and three other men to fan the flames of division in this country, which is exactly what we don't need.

The offices of the Australian Workers Union offices in Sydney and Melbourne was raided by the Australian Federal Police for possible donations to, Get Up, the most left PC brigade there is.
The union was then run by our now Labor Party leader, Bill Shorten.
