EGAFD having issues

I'm in the middle of a "project" which means that I'm looking at IAFD and EGAFD a lot ... every day.

For the last 6 days I've been getting lots of "Time Out" errors from EGAFD. By which I mean somewhere between 50 and 100 per day. And I do not spend all of my free time on my project.

Today, 7 September, at 09:00am VEF time EGAFD went down and as at the time I post this, 4 hours later, it's still down.

I've known the site go down before but it's unusual for any downtime to last this long.

Whatever the issue is it's also affecting BGAFD, which I believe uses the same server as EGAFD.

I did wonder about a DDoS attack but ruled that out because of the way that EGAFD was coming back after the time-outs - almost as though the site had suddenly fully reconnected with the outside world rather than a slow return. The site over the last 6 days has either been there or not been there, very black and white - no gray.

Same result from different browsers and different operating systems.

Yeah, they returned yesterday.

It's very weird because if you keep reloading, and/or loading multiple tabs, and constantly refreshing when the browser gives up eventually the site reconnects to the internet and they all come through at the same time.

Anecdotally interesting:
Using Brave on both Windows 10 and Ubuntu (Linux) pages were coming back about 2 minutes earlier in Windows 10.
I ran the test a few times today and every time Windows 10 came first. I was expecting Ubuntu to be first or both at the same time.
(2 Desktop PC's both connected by cable to the same router)

It must be Saturday ...

EGAFD went down at 9:30am VEF time today and as at 1:25pm it's still down.

Is It Down Right Now website confirms

Egafd.com is DOWN for everyone.
It is not just you. The server is not responding...

ADDITIONAL:
And if I'd held off for another half an hour .....
The site is now back - timed at 1:55pm VEF time.

Yeah, I've notice both EGAFD and BGAFD being very variable today (I believe that they're on the same server). Sometimes being normal quickness and other times taking so long that I expected a timeout but then eventually connecting.

I've also noticed a similar issue today with IAFD and yet other websites are fine, so it's not me.

At first I thought somebody had hit the delete button in error.

From the front page of EGAFD all of the "Actress" links (A, B, C etc) give you a blank page.

If you use the "Films" links they are all working normally and the link from "films" will take you to the actresses page.

So to find details on an "actress" you currently need to know at least one "film" that she is in.

UPDATE:
They appear to have sorted the issue by 12:45pm VEF time

I go to EGAFD on an almost daily basis and usually multiple times per day.

For a couple of months now EGAFD seems to go down at least once a day for periods of up to an hour but usually more like 15 or 20 minutes.

I did wonder if they were doing daily updates but I think that is unlikely.

IAFD is having similar issues but with them you get more useful information; 500 error, Cloudflare offering an archive page, or even IAFD's own Sad Trombone.

But the motto, as with the 502's here, is to use the refresh/reload option.
