Whenever I discover I have annoyed someone without meaning to, I always look for an opportunity make up the quarrel. I'm a poor man and I can't afford the luxury of enemies. There's only one member on this forum with whom I'm on bad terms and if he doesn't know who he is then he is stupid as well, which I don't believe.
Always choose enemies who really are total a***h***s: this way you can genuinely enjoy hating them. brian, marlon, I rate both of you highly and I would be tickled pink if you would forgive each other. Did you know (this should be on Nelson's thead) that the phrase ''to chance your arm'' originates from the peaceful resolution of an ancient vendetta between two Scottish clans. Determined to make one last attempt to make peace before fighting to the death, the chieftan of the besieging army parleyed with the chieftan of the besieged army and they agreed the basic peace deal. But the chap inside the castle refused to trust the chap outside unless he would thrust his arm through the talk hatch in the gate and shake hands on the bargain. To do this, the man outside courageously chanced his arm: it would have been easy to stand inside the castle and cut it off. But the man inside the castle shook the proffered hand and peace was made. The moral of this story is...

This calls for a much needed
(((GROUP HUG)))
Hey we`re all human beings here (Myself excepted) and so open to dips in emotional form and prone to fall into easy misunderstandings But this is a food thread for Gandhi`s sake , a commodity close to all our hearts and belly's. Let`s not tarnish the dream

Well we`ve had a lorra lorra food and a lorra lorra laffs (Excuse me but Cilla just appeared on screen in a heart wrenching advert for life insurance ) , how about we throw in the best places to find this food ?. You know your best local-ish takeaway and what not , that way if any of us manic munchers are down certain necks of the woods we`ll have a heads up on some decent places to either visit or order from
Now i've already started previously by name dropping what i consider to be the best deli in the South West So let me further add the best Chinese take way in the East ( Well granted i haven`t tested them all yet ) Planet Wok Excellent service , excellent dishes and of course most vitally excellent meaty Ho-Mei ribs " Mmmmmmmm me eat you long time "

Wow, I think I spent more time reading this thread than any girls thread here. Tonight I grilled a pork rib chop and a fresh from the garden zucchini with a home mixed Cajun seasoning (garlic, cayenne, thyme, etc..). In the morning, I plan to fry a couple pieces of bacon, some grated potatoes for hash browns, and a couple eggs (over-easy), for breakfast. Last night was coho salmon grilled with lemon pepper and a salad with garden cucumber and a dressing of tarragon vinegar and olive oil. I may be a steak and potatoes man, but I can respect other foods too.

I'm having duck tonight. A gift from a mate who was hunting. I have a rabbit marinading as well. Going to make rabbit kebabs on skewers. I'm getting hungry thinking about it.

Well, i'm not a chef. But I make a chilli/tomato marinade and cut the flesh into chunky pieces and let them sit in the marinade for 5/6 hours in the fridge. Best finished on the barbie with fresh peppers/onion mushrooms etc. But still tasty grilled. Try it my friends you will enjoy If anyone has rabbit recipes i'd love to hear them. Any VEF chefs to give us some tips?

Farowt is the chef, but he is busy posting really good porn, so might not have time for this.
Today I was lazy, cooked up some crappy chicken nuggets, but dipped them in Kim's Sauce. Kim's Sauce is a local thing, from a chinese restaurant in Medford, that has become quite popular. If you google kims sauce, at least from here, you get a recipe that is close in the first choice. It used to be called shrimp sauce, but people took to putting it on everything. I don't have have my recipe on me at the moment, but it is basically the same except for the recipe I was given includes horseradish (to taste). Without the horseradish, it just tastes like sweet mayonnaise. Washed it down with Widmer Brothers Hefeweizen, and several bourbon and cokes.

If God were to say, Adam, this is your last day on Earth. Eat well, here's what I would feast on as my last meal for each time:
Breakfast Pancakes with cherry filling, whipped cream and honey with lotsa butter. Fresh-squeezed orange juice. Lunch Double-burger with everything, steak fries and sweet tea Dinner Jumbo shrimp cocktail Filet mignon steak with fresh broccoli and Hollandaise sauce For desert, deep dish apple streudel pie and a lot of Port wine to drink I will die on a full and happy stomach. |
