I'm heading out later on to meet some friends in a Thai restaurant. Never been a massive fan of Thai food, even in Thailand, but I love to experiment and sample Thai beer. And the "ring of fire" will be fun tomorrow.

Hello again, boys! I'm back from St. Augustine, where I had some nice fish and chips (cod) with vinegar at the King's Head Pub the other day. We ate like kings down there, a beautiful rack of lamb with mint jelly at Le Pavillion, with oysters Rockefeller for an appetizer. For lunch the first day at A1A, a mojito, with some red brick ale and cheese soup, and ragtime shrimp. Then on to Amici's for some mussels marinara, calamari, and veal saltimboca, and a canolli and expresso. At the Cuban restaurant "Columbia" I had a 1905 martini, with Ketel One, and a blue cheese filled olive, some chorizo with onions on crackers, then a beautiful steak "Chacho", set afire with Booker Noe bourbon, with plantains, "platanos maduros", with a bottle of Ybor City Gold beer. Desserts like flan, creme brulee, key lime pie. Raw oysters, clam chowder, clam strips, sweet tea. Crab legs at O.C. White's. We went to see "Bruno"! Vassuppp! Then we drank like idiots and smoked cigars till closing time, when we sat on our balcony and drank even more, overlooking Matanzas Bay. Oh yeah.

Oysters Rockerfeller
Ragtime Shrimp Clam Chowder This last I've heard of before, but I've never actually encountered any of these. Do please elaborate... It certainly sounds like you've been on a good pasture in St Augustine, brian old boy!

How about this- settled in 1565, St. Augustine is the oldest continuously occupied European established city, and the oldest port, in the continental United States. |

I was going to say I had a nice plate of calamari and fish and chips with a glass or two of white wine but I don't think I will now.

Working late here, 12:30am. Tempted by the takeaway menus, but I think I can resist.
