Looking for a good, reputable downloader
Recently, I posted a question like this, and someone recommended Jdownloader2. I downloaded and installed Jdownloader2 and began having strange problem with my PC. I also could not figure out how to use Jdownloader2. Can someone recommend a safe downloader to me? Also, can I specify to be informed by email when someone answers my question? If so, how? |

1. you subscribe to the thread - using thread tools
- at the top in the middle of every thread 2. go to your control panel - User CP (top of page lefthandside) - under settings /options - edit options messaging & notification - default thread subscription - 4 types of email available As to what to use safely - impossible question to answer easily My criteria for selecting freeware 1. make sure my security suite has no issues with the chosen software - googling known conflicts tends to show up issues 2. pick a site where to download from - preferably one that has reviews, tutorials & user feedback and isnt a giant commercially sponsored one that cheerleads for their financial partners at your expense. my goto site for freeware is always http://www.techsupportalert.com/best...ad-manager.htm 3. read tutorials if available (seek them out on google) & comments left by others on the software to see if the reviews missed anything...the more time you spend getting to know the software the more likely you'll actually match yourself to something you can use as opposed to something that baffles you. Plenty of software out there even with tutorials that has been developed by someone who cant think like an IT novice. 4. check every site your about to download from with the url option at Some sites are bogus but look every bit like the real thing Pick the wrong site to download from and real problems will ensue www.virustotal.com 5. the installation Pay very close attention when installing as all too many today will try and include 3rd party offers to make money - if you overlook the opt out ticks then you can have issues with conflicts like you've probably got with jdownloader - at a guess. 6. Malwarebytes has small programs that can clean the crap out of your system I use the junkware removal tool to keep the unwanted off my PC Theres always the possibility that removing it will stop the freeware working just depends what it said during installation https://www.malwarebytes.com/junkwareremovaltool/ 7. If freeware isnt what you were after and it does something to your Windows system Either uninstall & re-install (corrupt files do occur sadly) or use System restore to go back when it wasnt on your system Its worth keeping a running diary date wise when you add any software so you'll know if you can use system restore safely Your first thread with all the recommendations easily refound via your User CP - profile / statistics / find threads started thanked etc http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...d.php?t=327089 Last edited by buttsie; April 19th, 2017 at 08:34 PM..
