The tank museum has a series of short films about regular and strange tanks and other vehicles called "Tank chats". Highly recommended.

This video contains two examples of a grenade being put down the barrel of what is labeled a T72. The first time at the 1:05 mark the breech must be closed and it doesn't seem to have much of an effect. The second time around the 2:00 minute mark and the effect is quite remarkable. The breech must have been open.

Possibly, the comments state the engine of the tank is not running and there are no signs of life from any of the apparently missing crew.
