I always hated that song by Irene Cara,

but she was a bit of a looker

The song was just on an oldies music channel on TV and as by brain never stops working, I got this thread idea

What would you like to be famous for ?

It could be anything .....something that's already occurred or something that's yet too occur.

I don't need fame, but I'd love too hold a world record, never too be beaten for pizza eating, though many will try

Seriously, I would love to go for a world land speed record. I think thats the ultimate bond between man and machine..

I have zero interest in fame.If I became a millionaire, I'd be reclusive. If the day ever comes that I'm a news story, it'll probably be something like " Man saves little kid". I'll put myself out there for others, especially if they're in danger. Fame for the sake of self satisfaction? *shudders*
I don't even like being around my friends. I can't imagine a bunch of strangers chasing after me

Id like to be famous for winning the Euro-Millions Lottery..!!! £101million to some couple in Wisbech today..!! Damn.... with that money i could eat kebabs every night rather than just once a week..!!! Id let the press climb all over me, then tell em to do one... and go hide on my own private Caribbean island for the rest of my life.... ordering in kebabs and Indian curries as and when i need them..!!!

I've often wondered how I would seriously react to winning 10 million quid. Yes you will buy all you ever wanted, look after the family. But what's next? I think you need help to realise you never going to be skint again. And these weirdos who continue to work a dumb job 9-5 need a a kick in the arse. Somebody needs that job.

I used to want to be famous for being a musician, of course. Then later in life, I wish I could have made it in acting. But now that I think about it, there's a real down side to all that mess.

Being in a successful band often means big tours, spending night after night in hotel rooms. You can't go out, and your bandmates are usually the only friends you have, (although you may be so sick of them you want to kill them). Even worse is being in a less successful band, and having to tour constantly playing less and less prodigious gigs, just to keep some money coming in. Playing the same songs, night after night, for years and years.

Being a famous actor is much of the same, inasmuch as you can't just up and go shopping downtown, or go to a movie, or the beach, or a restaurant, without security and people constantly bugging you for chats, autographs, or pictures. You have many "friends", though...not necessarily real friends, of course. Must be a real rut.

Of course, not a bad rut to be in, as far as ruts go...
