Kristin Cavallari finished her education in Laguna Beach High School California. Her 'fame' if such it is, came about when she was dating a young man while they were filming the 'Reality' TV show, 'Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County', she then signed up to appear in its spin-off, 'The Hills'. Now the thing about all these shows is that essentially you are filming a bunch of talentless teens, who do nothing more than act up (and usually badly), in front of a TV camera, while the audience laugh at what knob heads (but now richer knob heads) these people are. So naturally when the TV companies move on, so does the 'fame' .... and that seems to be the case here as well. These shows finished by the summer of 2010.

When Lack Of Any Talent Bites:

She briefly attended the Loyola Marymount University but failed to complete the course. She then signed on the UPN reality television series 'Get This Party Started', which was cancelled after two episodes due to extremely low ratings.

Try Your Hand At Acting Time:

In 2006, she signed on as Crystal in the horror film 'Fingerprints' .... which made no impact. Her next role was as Summer in 'Spring Breakdown' which was released straight-to-DVD ... it was all down hill from here. Roles n the independent films 'Green Flash', 'Wild Cherry (which also starred Rumer Willis which tells you a lot). were followed by another straight-to-DVD film, National Lampoon's 'Van Wilder: Freshman Year' ... most of these were to mixed i.e. 'negative' reviews.

Her last 'work' seems to be as occasional 'guest judge' on TV talent shows, and an appearance on the 2011 season of 'Dancing with the Stars', which she didn't win. Essentially her career, such as it was, appears to be over.

So why is she here? Well what her authorised web bio's and pages such as 'Wiki' don't tell you, is that she was caught being a naughty girl .... It apppears that during her "Laguna Beach" days, Cavallari was caught with three other girls, stealing merchandise from 'Tawny K.'. This is a store owned by one Tawny Kitaen (who herself a has a post on this thread), and herself a 'star' of VH1’s 'Surreal Life' and a 'Whitesnake video' fame (the last three words of this sentence were an oxymoron just 5 years ago, where has the world gone ). The important point is that had Ms Kitaen pressed charges this may well have been a smaller posting .... just 'Laguna Beach' to hang it on

This all came to light in a June 2006 interview with Ms Kitaen with 'Blender magazine' .....

Kendra Wilkinson was born in San Diego, and when she left high school she began working as a glamour model, and also briefly worked as an administrative assistant in a dentist's office ....

It starts early, the 'force', with this one:

Wilkinson met Hugh Hefner at his 78th birthday party in April 2004 when she was just 19 yrs old ..... Shortly afterwards , Hefner asked Wilkinson to be 'one of his girlfriends', and he moved her into the Playboy Mansion along with her two dogs. Her association with Pl*yboy, meant she was featured on the 'E!' reality television series 'The Girls Next Door', which followed the lives of Hefner's then three girlfriends, but she moved out of the Playboy Mansion in 2009 after meeting her future husband, an american footballer (and the details of her marital life are on the link on her name at the top of the page, if thats your thing!).

She then filmed her own spin-off reality show for E! called 'Kendra'. The first season was apparently all about 'her living on her own and planning her wedding' .... gee riveting! Cameos on TV shows such as 'Las Vegas' and 'Entourage' and a bit part in 'Scary Movie 4' ... then a few music video's, the twelveth season of Dancing with the Stars, and now a new network 'WE tv' reality show called 'Kendra on Top', and you have got it about summed up. Oh, in 2010 she published a memoir, 'Sliding Into Home' ... and has her own website where she can 'talk about family, friends and laughter'.

In May 2010, a sex video recording of Wilkinson having sex with her high school boyfriend surfaced. The recording was acquired by 'Vivid Entertainment', who planned to distribute the tape as "Kendra Exposed". She is or was apparently contesting the release, and she threatened to sue 'Vivid' should it be released. But, and heres the rub, the website 'RadarOnline' reported that in 2008, it was Wilkinson herself who set up the company 'Home Run Productions LLC', as a vehicle through which she made several attempts to sell sex tapes.

Other sources have since reported that she was paid approx $680,000 for the film that was made by Justin Frye when she was 18 ... apparently before she had her breast implants. Oh, and in case your wondering, yes, apparently she did record the voice over commentary for the film .... "See that desk my boyfriend's fucking me on? There's actually a really funny story about that. So we were on vacation in Mexico -- 2002 I believe -- and we found the cutest little shop . . ."

Carlina Duran, is a 25yr old women with hope in her heart and a gleam in her eyes, who a few years earlier had entered the modelling and pageant circuit. She had left the central La Vega province of the Dominican Republic to set up a spa in Santo Domingo, and now here she was about to compete in the Miss Dominican Republic Universe of 2012.

The event was to be held in the Jaragua Hotel in the capital Santo Domingo, and winning it would open many doors ..... with a total of 37 entrants in the event, the competition was stiff, but as a professional model, and a competitor in the 'Tourism Queen International 2011 pageant', as well as being named the "Sexiest Woman in the Caribbean" 2011 by Global Beauties, she had good reason to be hopeful. These hopes were realised when she was declared and crowned the winner.

Talitha Getty (b. Talitha Dina Pol) was born in the former Dutch East Indies, and spent her first few years in a Japanese prison camp. After the war her parents separated and she moved to Britain with her mother, who died in 1948. She studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London and moved in the bohemian circles of the time. She started a career as a stage and TV actress, and her first film was the 1962 movie 'Village of Daughters' and including an uncredited role in the notorious 1968 sci fi hippie movie 'Barbarella'.

She was considered a noted beauty at the time, and took 'a little starlet job in a hotel in Yugoslavia' where Anthony, Viscount Lambton, a noted 'swordsman' and a later Conservative Government Minister, attempted to seduce her, when he followed and stayed at the hotel and sent her huge bunches of flowers about every two hours, and then showered her with presents. He wasn't the only one to fall for her charms. According to Rudolf Nureyev's biographer, Julie Kavanagh, the dancer first met Pol at a party in 1965, and was so attracted to her that Nureyev said he "had never felt so erotically stirred by a woman" and told several friends that he wished to marry her.

However, by chance, Nureyev missed a dinner party at which he and Pol were to have sat together, and his place was taken by John Paul Getty, son of the oil tycoon Paul Getty. Pol and Getty Jr forged a relationship that led to their marriage in 1966. The Getty's became part of "Swinging" London's fashionable scene, with all that that entailed .....

They were in a fairly 'open marriage', and both reportedly saw over people. Getty was described as "a swinging playboy who drove fast cars, drank heavily, experimented with drugs and squired raunchy starlets". Talitha's lover in this 'open' arrangement was allegedly 'Count Jean de Breteuil', a young French aristocrat (who was also sleeping with actress Marianne Faithfull). Unfortunately for her, Breteuil was also a drug dealer, who supplied drugs to rock stars such as Jim Morrison, Keith Richards, as well as Marianne Faithfull, who wrote that Breteuil "saw himself as dealer to the stars". Richards later recalled that John Paul and Talitha Getty "had the best and finest opium".

And therein lies her down fall. She and Getty were fast living, and were both increasingly heavy drug users .... by 1971 their 'open' marraige had taken its toll, and divorce was on the cards. The Getty's were both in Rome, Italy on 14 July and were making a last attempt to patch up their marriage, however both were still taking heroin. On that night, Taitha died of an accidental heroin overdose .... the aftermath of this event changed Getty forever, he stopped taking drugs and later took up supporting cricket.

• The dinner party where she met Getty was hosted by Claus von Bülow, who later was involved in scandals of his own.

Tila Nguyen aka Tila Tequila, born in Singapore, where her family emigrated from Vietnam after the Vietnam War. She has little bit of French colonist in her background, and the family relocated to the US where she struggled to adapt (see below), being sent to a boarding school for six months for her combative behavior ... this became something of a theme. She graduated from High School in 2000, and at 18 began her modelling career.

Her second official single, 'Stripper Friends' (the name gives it all away ), failed to chart. In fact take it as read that nothing has charted past obscurity level. She has started her own record label called "Tila Tequila Records" ..... has also started a management firm called 'Little Miss Trendsetter Management LLC' and manages an up and coming group of models called 'Feisty Felines'.

Is It Love That Your After:

In 2009, Nguyen stated she was engaged to heiress 'Casey Johnson', and was photographed with a diamond ring, but in January 2010, Johnson, who had Type I Diabetes, was found dead ... she had been neglecting to take her medication.

Bad Girl:

While in high school, she used her sister's identification card to enter nightclubs, where she began taking drugs and joined a gang, because she would later explain in her memoir, that she felt "confused" and "lost" from various personal family and environmental issues. She says her nickname of 'Tila Tequila', came about when she experimented with alcohol at the age of thirteen.

She lost her virginity at 15, and to having become pregnant and suffering a miscarriage the following year ... too much information Also at age 16, she ran away ran to Queens, New York for several months ... she has also said that at this time, she experienced a drive-by shooting event in Houston.

The show 'A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila' led to a heated online row between Nguyen and conservative Christians, after an article on lebian dating on TV shows appeared on 'The Christian Post' on September 13, 2007. After seeing the article, Nguyen wrote an impassioned response in her blog on September 28, 2007, criticizing churches for "bashing" the gay community, while thanking God for saving her life .... she was brought up a Buddhist, so her implied conversion to christianity may have surprised her parents. In 2009, she announced on Twitter that she is a lesbian, and not bisexual, as she had previously proclaimed herself to be.

MissTila.com was her adult themed website, which later became a more general site in order to merchandise to teens. .... Girls who wannabe be pole dancers?

In April 2010, Nguyen officially released a single entitled 'I Fucked The DJ', along with an edited version entitled 'I Love My DJ', through iTunes. The songs were released under the name "Miss Tila".

Litigation Is Such An Ugly Word:

In 2007, a US based record label 'The Saturday Team' released an EP called 'Sex, by Tila Tequila'. It was later reported by Italian website 'MusicBlob' that 'The Saturday Team' and distributor 'Icon Music Entertainment Services' had sued Nguyen over breaching her contract related to the album. Nguyen claimed in a MySpace bulletin that the EP was not authorized for release by her, and was removed from most retailers. However 'The Saturday Team' won a legal case, making 'Sex, by Tila Tequila' available for digital purchase.

She began a tour supporting her EP 'Welcome to the Darkside' in 2010, and at one of her tour stops in August 2010, she appeared at the 'Gathering of the Juggalos', a music festival founded by hip hop duo 'Insane Clown Posse'. She was repeatedly pelted with rocks and bottles among other objects (presumably for being utter crap, but I can stand to be corrected), and she vowed to take legal action against the organizers and promoters for the event.

In 2009, Nguyen was allegedly choked and restrained by former boyfriend who was later arrested. The San Diego district attorney decided not to charge him after reviewing reports from the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. So in November 2009, Nguyen sued him for $1.5 million. He countersued, alleging intentional interference with contract, unfair competition, and trademark infringement. She declined to respond to this and a default judgment was entered in his favor for $2 million ... oops

The Sex Tape:

Come on .... you knew she wouldn't have missed this trick didn't you? ..... yes in 2011 'Vivid Entertainment' released a video of her engaging in sexual acts with pornographic actresses 'Kristina Rose' and 'Charlie Laine'. Nguyen claimed that the video was made for personal use and she did not consent to its release ..... the fact that it was with professional porn stars suggests otherwise. She has also done videos that are 'authorised' that are as explcit .... so not much fuss.

Drugs Overdose:

In 2012, it was reported that she agreed to check into rehab after having reportedly 'almost died' from overdosing on pills. The incident caused her to be hospitalized from a brain aneurysm, and after completing her rehab treatment she told US Weekly "I can remember feeling like the bones were popping out the side of my head [because] the pain was so bad. I took some medications and tried to go for a nap, but when I woke up I was vomiting. I really thought I was going to die." .... this, and the rehab course, smack of drug addiction and accidental overdose, and doesn't sound like an 'attempted suicide', which some sites reported.

Belgica Suarez is from Tegucigalpa, Distrito Central, Honduras and she has been on the beauty pageant circuit for a number of years, where she has enjoyed some success. In Ecuador she won the title of 'Miss Photogenic', and competed in the 'Miss Latino America' contest. She participated in the 'Miss Honduras contest', where she was placed in second place ..... then in 2009 she competed again and became Miss Honduras. She was also a semi-pro model, where she featured in international model shoots.

And it was one of those 'international model shoots' that caused her problems ....

Oops, Memory Like A Sieve Me:

In 2011, Honduran police arrested Miss Honduras after they found her trying to cross the border from Esteli, Nicaragua with the equivalent of $47,000 (all in Euros and British pounds) ... when questioned, she failed to give a satisfactory explanation as to the source of this money.

According to Honduran law, travelers must declare to customs that they are carrying more than $10,000. The Special services police then arrested her, along with a Nicaraguan driver at the border crossing, and charged her with attempted money laundering, for failing to declare the cash. The police spokesman later told 'The Associated Press' that "She claimed she had earned the money working as a model in Europe," .... as if

Unusually, I have found out how this all ended .... in July 2011 she was found not guilty of the money laundering charges ..... the judge found Ms Suarez not guilty of money laundering despite her having failed to declare the $47,000 worth of cash at a border crossing. Judge Allan Rodriguez ruled that there was not enough evidence to convict her of a crime.

Its not known how the Honduran Tax Authorities judged her attempt to bypass declaring her earnings ......

Lorena Tavera is aged 33 year old and a resident of El Paso, Texas, US .... she is a model and a winner of her home town peageant as Miss El Paso USA in 2008 as well as Miss Pepsi Cola.

Quick Oops

El Paso police arrested Tavera after store workers in from Dillard's noticed on a Friday night the theft of a $69 shirt, and followed her outside the business. Tavera, who was allegedly concealing the shirt in a shopping bag, was confronted and arrested by police.

The former West Texas beauty queen has denied the theft allegation and when asked to comment, she denied the story's accuracy, stating: "I'm going to contact my lawyer. This story can't be run. The story is wrong first of all. It's been misconstrued and it's twisted, so I need to contact my lawyer… I can't talk to you until I talk to my lawyer".

Local press also divulged that a search of the El Paso County Jail records showed Tavera also had two outstanding traffic court warrants. She was freed on the Saturday, after posting a $728 bond.

Update: She later skipped her court date and a warrant for her arrest was issued.

This is more a tale of relentless bad luck, combined with relentless optimism ..... Blair Griffith was the usual run of the mill school girl when her father first encouraged the young 14 yr old tomboy to enter the pageant world .... he was eventually taken terminally ill, and after his death, her mother struggled to bring her and her brother/sister up. Still, all seemed OK after she struck lucky and won the 'Miss Teen USA' in 2006, and followed this up with winning the 'Miss Colorado USA' pageant in October 2010. It seemed that she was on the very cusp of that essential breakthrough, the one required to get one's little tootsies on the bottom rung of the magic celeb ladder.

“It was a dream come true, four years I had tried to win the title of Miss Colorado USA; it’s just been a big, huge goal for me, and it was definitely one of those moments in life when I said, ‘Thank you.’ Something great had definitely happened.”

But just one month later, she answered a surprise knock at the front door of the townhouse she shared with her mother (who had developed health issues, and had lost her health insurance - those legal weasels at insurance offices make health care an unhealthy issue in the US). It was Sheriff’s officers armed with an eviction notice, who proceeded to toss all of their worldly possessions into trash bags.... and put the possessions, her, and her mother out on the streets.

“Anyone can fall victim to this with the situation that’s going on in today’s economy,” Griffith said. Still, she admitted, “It was terrible. When you go through the eviction process, they basically come in and throw all your belongings into trash bags and you have no idea where anything is, and you’re just trying to get your life together in two hours’ time. It’s very difficult.”

Her mother had apparently let her know things were bad, but she had no idea how much difficulty they were in, and she had continued her four-year quest to capture the Miss Colorado USA crown to honour her father. Things didn't get much better shortly afterwards, when after juggling a full time job with her beauty queen role, the Saks Fifth Avenue store where she worked closed, another victim of the recession economy.

However in the true spirit of the pageants and minor celebs everywhere, the little miss optimist, still hoped to go on and win the Miss USA crown .... she didn't. But in words that every girl in this thread could happily subscribe to she said that ....

“My message when I get there is just that I want to be an inspiration to everyone, and show you that no matter the hardships you’re facing, if you stay focused on your dreams and your goals, you can achieve them.”

I don't know what happened to this girl or her mother (although they had found temporary accommodation and had offers of help in the reports I saw), but one has to say that I have a sneaking admiration for her unbreakable (and very American if I may so), sunny spirit, as well as her determination to make it, regardless of the odds, and hope things have bucked up for her .... not often I say that on this thread.

Pier Angeli (b. Anna Maria Pierangeli) from Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy. She spent her childhood and teens throughout the war in Rome, Italy. She made her first film debut was aged 16 in an uncredited part in 1948's 'The Million Dollar Nickel' but her main film debut was aged 18 in 'Domani è troppo tardi' in 1950, this was followed by her American cinematographic debut in the starring role of the 1951 film 'Teresa', for which she won a Golden Globe Award. She then appeared in a reasonable number of film roles, but after unluckily losing out in a role to her twin sister which got an Oscar nomination, her career sort of stalled. However it looked as if her acting career might revive, when she was picked to play a role in 'The Godfather', but her final appearance on the screen in a 33 film career was in 1971, in the low-budget sci-fi opus 'Octaman'.

She died in 1971 of an accidental barbiturate overdose before filming of the 'The Godfather', a role which she hoped was going to finally get her the recognition she craved. She is interred in the Cimetière des Bulvis, in Rueil-Malmaison, Hauts-de-Seine, France.

According to Kirk Douglas in his autobiography "The Ragman's Son", she was engaged to him in the early 1950's .... he gives no reason for the breakup, but rumour has it that he has started seeing Anne Buydens. The rumours added that she secretly enters the love nest of Kirk and his new flame in Porto Ercole, Italy, and leaves an inscribed photo of her on his bedside table ..... later, in 1954 she was reported as becoming hysterical when she learns about Kirk’s marriage to Buydens.

The young actor John Barrymore, Jr., was so smitten that he started taking Italian lessons, in 1951 there is gossip that she may have secretly married Francesco Matarazzo, a young Brazilian nobleman.

She dated James Dean while he was filming East of Eden (1955). she broke off the relationship because he was too self centered, and her mother was against the union because of Dean's behavior. According to legend, the mother approaches Jack Warner to put an end to the affair. Warner apparently instructed Dean to "stop fuckin’ that broad."

She later described him as the only love of her life. "He wanted me to love him unconditionally, but Jimmy was not able to love someone else in return . . . it was the troubled boy that wanted to be loved very badly. I loved Jimmy as I have loved no one else in my life, but I could not give him the enormous amount that he needed. Loving Jimmy was something that could empty a person".

Marry In Haste and Repent in Leisure:

On the rebound from Dean, and under pressure from her mother, she married singer and actor Vic Damone in 1954, whom she had first met at a dinner dance at New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel in 1950.

The union lasted only four years and produced one son. Their marriage had collapsed in bitterness, and she charges Damone with 'mental cruelty'. She and Damone then fought a series of highly publicized court battles for the custody of their one son. They spared no ones blushes in the battles and in 1958 she wins an interlocutory degree. She gets the house, the son, and 25% of her former husband’s gross income but the following year she defies the court order not to remove her son from the States by taking him to London. In 1959 with the divorce final she takes her son and moves back to Port Ercole, Italy.

In 1964, Damone seized their son in New York City. She follows Damone to California and sues him. Another round of acrimonious court battles ensue, and in January 65, the court gives her custody of the boy for ten months of the year. She takes him back to Rome. In 1966, she has a change of heart and send him to live with Damone in the US.

Footloose and Fancy Free:

In 1960, she then got involved in a Ménage à Trois with the Italian actor Maurizio Arena and his fiancée, starlet Lorella De Luca, who attempted suicide. She then swans off and has affairs with the French actor Christian Pezey, and then the younger actor Fabrizio Capucci. She is then seen on the arm of a number of Italian playboys .... then she meets and marries Armando Trovajoli at Kensington’s registrar’s office in 1962, and she divorces him in 1969.

Drinkies and Druggies:

During the second marriage, her social drinking became rather less social, and by 1970 she was taking prescription drugs to help control bouts of panic attacks. When back in the US, she calls a friend, .... Dr. Spritzler and asks him to come to her apartment. She’s very irrational and agitated, so he gives her an injection of Compazine to calm her down. She dies sometime after this injection, and the following morning, when Dr. Spritzler calls again he finds her dead. Verdict: 'accidental overdose' .... Family verdict - Pier’s family will remain convinced that her death is due to Spritzler’s administration of Compazine and that he should have faced manslaughter charges.

Trivia:

• Her twin sister is the actress Marisa Pavan.
• 'Teresa' also saw the debut of Rod Steiger.
• She was up for the role of Anna Magnani's daughter in The Rose Tattoo, but because motherhood interfered, the role went to her twin sister, Marisa Pavan, who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
