Default Actress: Jewel Carmen

Jewel Carmen (B. Florence Lavina Quick ) was an American silent film actress. She started her career when after graduating from high school in 1912, she traveled to New York City to try her hand at acting, and as was apparently the way in those days she got a film role. She went on to appear in 39 movies up until 1926 when she retired. She was married just the once to Roland West in 1918 and they divorced in 1935. She died in San Diego, California, on March 4, 1984 at the age of 86.

So why's she here? Well she was involved in one or two events that were the subject of much interest at the time of her film career.

Firstly she was rather loose in honouring contracts with film companies, and this led to litigation papers passing around like confetti at a wedding. In 1917, she was contracted to with Fox Film Corporation but decided that it wasn't good enough so she signed another contract with the Keeney Corporation in 1918 - this breached her existing contract and lawyers became involved. To cut a long story short she used a bit of legal chicanery to walk away from the Fox contract but Justice Benjamin N. Cardozo confirmed that she had "unclean" hands in the whole affair, and he didn't approve of the 'legalise' loophole she had exploited to break contract.

Secondly, her husbands behaviour dragged her name through the guttter when he admitted having an affair with the actress Thelma Todd. This only came to light following the death of Ms Todd, who was found dead of carbon monoxide poisoning in suspicious circumstances. Not least of which was that the car in which she apparently killed herself was parked in the garage attached to the home where Carmen's parents lived, and which Carmen had formerly shared with West There were other issues surrounding the death (including the fact that many witnesses said they had seen Todd alive after the official time of death) which kept the scandal going in the press for weeks. The divorce from West was inevitable.

Trivia:
  • Film directories list her place of birth as Danville, Kentucky, although her death certificate states she was born in Oregon.

Default Dancer and Model: Katharina Miroslawa

Thanks and credit to Fabrizio for the post suggestion and the first nine pictures (he's asked me to write it up and post, because despite his excellent English, he doesn't feel quite up to the subtleties required).

So its a return to the 'Darkside' of minor celebrity, with this tale of love and betrayal from Italy ..... Katharina Miroslawa was a young girl who had managed to wangle a visa from Poland, and who armed with a good figure and a willingness to show it, headed to Italy in the early 1980's. The iron curtain was still up and Italy promised 'La Dolce Vita', a land of opportunity for a girl armed as she was with natural weapons, and a willingness to use them

She had first worked in Germany, but finding the Germans attitude towards Poles not to her liking, she had migrated southwards and ended up in Modena in Italy. Soon she was working in nightclubs in the Modena and Parma areas as an exotic dancer, and has been joined by her 'husband' Witold Kielbasinsky, who was also a 'dancer' in the nightclubs of the region. All might have gone well, but while she was in the clubs she met an industrialist Carlos Mazza who paid court to her, and soon won or bought her charms. In fact so enamoured was Mazza that although married himself, he sealed his tryst with Ms Miroslawa by taking out a life insurance policy worth a billion lira. This was made out in favour of her, rather than his wife. On the basis of this, Ms Miroslawa apparently 'divorces' her husband, and presumably Mazza promises something of the same kind.

Now this life insurance policy may have been something of a tactical mistake by Mazza, because although it appears to have sealed his conquest, it also appears to have sealed his fate. Ms Miroslawa was apparently all too aware that the policy was only good while their affair was holding Mazza's attention. So maybe its of no surprise that on the morning of February 9, 1986: inside a Renault covered by snow, lies the body of Charles Mazza .... initial investigations actually suggest that he's had a heart attack. He's 52 yrs old, and known locally for his night club antics, so suspicion of foul play was low on the list. However it is only 24 hours later that the surgeon ascertains that in the man's head there are two small holes, produced by a 6.35 calibre gun ... Close range like this suggests an acquaintance, either a lover or the mob ... they decide to hunt for a lover.

The chase is on, and she is arrested, along with Mr Kielbasinsky, but they have alibi's - he was in Monaco 'working' the festival and she was in Hamburg in Germany. The Assize Court of Parma in May '87, finds that there is no case to answer "for lack of evidence". But there's continued investigation by the insurance company (remember the billion Lira policy?) which is considerably more efficient than that carried out by the 'Polizia di Stato', and which showed that on the eve of the murder a ford sierra motor vehicle had been hired by Zbigniew Drozdzik, brother of the dancer, and a German of Greek origin, Dimosthenes Dimopoulos. The car had traveled 2,200 kilometers, or a little more than the distance between Monaco, Parma and a return to Hamburg. This was the strong argument of the prosecutor, but a significant proportion was also the super testimony of Klaus Muckl, the homosexual friend of the same Zbigniew Drozdzik, who confirmed in court that Katharina's brother had asked him for an alibi for those days of the festival.

The retrial in 1990 found everyone guilty .... She and her ex-husband are sentenced to 24 years imprisonment. On appeal in 1991 she and her brother get this reduced to 21 years and six months imprisonment, while her ex retains the 24 yrs. However another appeal follows in 1992 and Dimopoulos is completely acquitted from being the accomplice, but the court reaffirms the main sentences for Miroslawa and Kielbasinsky, (confirmed yet again in 1993) ..... but in the meantime though, both Katharina and Witold disappeared from Italy. He is found four months later in Germany, but Ms Miroslawa is gone.... and in another twist, Witold Kielbasinski decides to shoulder all the blame "I acted out of jealousy, not for money" - swears the man - but the killer of Mazza was Dimosthenes Dimopoulos" ... the Greek/German, can't now be rearrested under Italian law after being found not guilty.

Eight years later, she is finally caught .... she has been 'hiding' as a stripper in Vienna. In fact so well 'hidden' was she from the short arm of Italian justice, that while her photos were appearing in magazines across the European news stands (including Italian and Austrian ones), she was openly living with her father in his apartment in Vienna, and she even went on holiday in Spain at the end of '99. Her arrest on the 22nd of February 2000, launched more appeals, but although she is on day release now, she has not formally finished her prison time.

Last twist, it appears that someone in her family betrayed her to the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza by sending a letter to one, and presumably not trusting the Italian mail (I'm still waiting for my holiday postcard to work to turn up myself ), phoning the other .... its not known for sure whether it was her father or her son who shopped her. She now enjoys minor celebrity status in Italy and the press are keenly following her day release and what she may eventually do upon her release. No doubt 'her story' may attract more money and publicity in the near future.

Trivia:
  • She has now found religion and wants to teach 'theology' after finishing prison, while working as a seamstress.
  • She has gained a diploma while in prison.
Pictures:

I had to use translated pages, but I believe that I have got the facts essentially correct. She was quite well known as a model and dancer and enjoyed a minor celebrity status in Italy that she may not have enjoyed outside of Italy. I hope that I have done the tale the justice Fabrizio was hoping for ....

The accomplices in the dock ........................ The Victim (& Lover) when somewhat younger.

Default Actress: Dagmar Godowsky

Dagmar Godowsky was an American silent film actress born in Chicago of Polish descent. She later claimed to have been born in Petrograd aka St Petersburg in Russia - this added to her allure. In her teens, she claimed to have taught Nijinsky to foxtrot. She started making movies in Hollywood in 1919 and carried on through to 1926, with 28 movies in all. Maybe her highpoint was when she played in 'A Sainted Devil' in 1924, with her co-star Rudolph Valentino.

She later said of her film career that she was "The Snake Woman" of Hollywood. "I hissed my way through a hundred interviews, [and my] eyes were supposedly so wicked that men lost their souls if they looked directly into them."

After her movie career ended she travelled and apparently, unfettered by her divorce, indulged in many matters of love. She is said to have divorced her second husband, James D. Sloan(e), when, immediately after the ceremony, he was said to have put his arm around her and asked possessively: "Who do you belong to now?"

In her later years she made frequent appearances in London, England, and on television talk shows in New York City. Godowsky died aged 78 in Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan on 13 February 1975. It was the anniversary of her father's birth.

So on to the private life ....

The disgraced celebs curse of the bad marriage was the first event to afflict Godowsky. She wed silent screen actor Frank Mayo in Tijuana, Mexico in 1921, and for four years she was blissfully ignorant that Mr Mayo had neglected one little thing when they wed .... yes the divorce from his first wife.

In March 1925, Godowsky named the actress Anna Luther as co-respondent in a divorce suit brought against Mayo in March 1925. The marriage was annulled in August 1928 on the grounds that she and Mayo had been in a bigamous marriage as he had another wife.

Like many an ex starlet, funds were always an issue and in 1958 Godowsky published an autobiography entitled 'First Person Plural'. It was very candid about her love life after her bigamous marriage ..... She wrote "I lived only for pleasure and I spoiled my own fun. Where was I running? From whom? Little feet running around the globe. Nothing but circles, and I never once bumped into myself".

In the book she frankly named 'Enrico Caruso', 'Arthur Rubinstein', 'Jascha Heifetz', 'Charles Chaplin', 'Igor Stravinsky', and 'Valentino' amongst her "great loves". When later queried about the number of husbands she had had, Godowsky responded "Two of my own, my dear, and several of my friends".

Trivia:
  • Her father was the composer Leopold Godowsky and Frederica Saxe.
  • In 'The Story Without a Name' in 1924, she co-starred with Tyrone Power, Sr.
  • Her brother, also named Leopold, was at one time married to George Gershwin's sister, Frances
  • Another brother Leo was a scientist for the Eastman Kodak Co. and was the man who invented Kodachrome film.
  • She wss five feet, five and one-half inches tall, weighed 120 pounds, had black hair and hazel eyes.

Default Actress and Model: Zoe West

Zoe West is a 21 yr old model, who has already got one film credit to her name in 'Pale: Quiet Day Off' ..... and who in August 2011 was being painted by the artist Andy Golub ...

So what? Well, although it's technically legal for women to go topless in New York City, it seems the NYPD will

(a) likely arrest you when you remove your top, and
(b) definitely arrest you when you remove your G-string.

So mayhap it was no surprise to either Ms West, nor Mr Golub when that is exactly what happened when they did this stunt on the corner of 44th St. and Broadway in NYC.

Especially as one of his models, had had a brush with the law the previous month, when he and two of his naked muses were arrested on public-lewdness charges in Times Square. Golub's been using naked women as his canvas at different locations across the city for years, setting up shop in areas with high tourist traffic like Columbus Circle, the Brooklyn Bridge and very often in Times Square. The cops held Ms West for an hour before dropping all charges.

Following the arrest, the Ulster County actress, who had shed an olive onesie and black G-string to be painted in public for 2 to 2-1/2 hours, said "It was wild, I walked into the precinct, and there were about six cops standing behind the counter. Everyone went, 'Whoa! What's this?'" .... "I don't believe there is truly anything wrong with what I did and with what he was doing" .... and of course the publicity hasn't hurt either

Default Producer and Actress: Thelma Furness

Thelma Furness (b. Thelma Morgan) was born to a well to do family. Her father was Harry Hays Morgan Sr, an American diplomat who was U.S. consul in Buenos Aires and in Brussels. When she finished schooling at the age of 17 in 1923, she embarked upon a motion picture career. Using money from her father she set herself up as both a film producer and actress by founding 'Thelma Morgan Pictures'. As she told Time magazine, "I am incorporating the Thelma Morgan Pictures, Inc., with $100,000 capital and will produce big, sane, and sound 'specials.' I will be my own star. Hitherto, my chief experience has been in Junior League shows."

Her first starring role, in 1923, was the lead in a film 'Aphrodite', produced by her own company and filmed at Vitagraph Studios. She also had small parts in the films 'Enemies of Women' in 1923 (a William Randolph Hearst production), 'So This Is Marriage?' in 1924, and 'Any Woman' in 1925.

She then embarked on the events which bring her too this thread ..... her love life.

Her first husband was the wealthy socialite James Vail Converse, in 1922, when she was an aspirant film star (she was 17 years old) but they divorced in 1925. She then became engaged to the American actor Richard Bennett, the matinée-idol father of the Hollywood film stars Constance, Joan, and Barbara Bennett. But her next marriage was to Marmaduke Furness, 1st Viscount Furness, the chairman of Furness Shipping Company. Its from this marriage that she became best known as 'Thelma, Viscountess Furness' to the press and world at large.

It was in this guise that she became a mistress of King Edward VIII, who later became the Duke of Windsor. She first met the Prince of Wales at a ball at Londonderry House in 1926 but they did not meet again until June 1929. They met regularly until she joined the Prince on safari in East Africa early in 1930, when a 'closer relationship' developed and she was his regular weekend companion at the newly acquired Fort Belvedere until January 1934.

It was she who introduced the Prince to her close friend Mrs Wallis Simpson and, whilst visiting her sister Gloria in America, in 1934 she was supplanted in the Prince's affection by Mrs Simpson. as you can imagine, the press (especially the non UK press), followed all of this with great attention

Not content with one royal lover, and now divorced from the Viscount, she then had a brief affair with Prince Aly Khan (him of Rita Hayworth and Duchess of Argyll fame) ... she then faded from notoriety and press attention. Lady Furness died in New York City, and was buried next to her twin sister, Gloria, in Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, California.

As her niece, Gloria Vanderbilt, later recalled, "She dropped dead on Seventy-third and Lexington on her way to see the doctor. In her bag was this miniature teddy bear that the Prince of Wales had given her, years before, when she came to be with my mother at the custody trial, and it was worn down to the nub".

Trivia:
  • Her maternal grandfather was a Union general, Hugh Judson Kilpatrick, who was also U.S. minister to Chile.
  • Through her maternal grandmother Luisa Fernandez de Valdivieso, who was a niece of Crescente Errázuriz Valdivieso, Archbishop of Santiago, she reportedly was a descendant of Spain's royal house of Navarre.
  • Her brother, Harry Hays Morgan, Jr., became a minor Hollywood actor in films e.g. "Abie's Irish Rose", and "Joan of Arc" in 1946 and 1948.
  • Gloria her identical twin, was the mother of Gloria Vanderbilt, the fashion designer and artist and mother of news anchor Anderson Cooper.
  • Unusually, She and her sister Gloria wrote a twin memoir called "Double Exposure" in 1959.

Default Model: Shonola Smith

Shonola Smith is a model, or maybe I should say a 'wannabee' model .... on the first steps of a promising career, young and attractive, she hardly conforms to the identikit image of the 'violent looter'.

But the 22-year-old model was arrested with her sister Alicia and their 22-year-old friend 'Donness Bissessar' when police stormed the Argos building on the Monday night of the London riots. When they were arrested, her sister Alicia Smith was carrying ten packs of chewing gum that she had stolen from a nearby Kwik Stop convenience store on the same day. She admitted the theft.

Clad in identical prison issue clothes in the dock they exchanged glances with their parents in the public gallery, but despite all three having no previous convictions, they received the same six months sentence, after pleading guilty at Croydon magistrates’ court to entering the Argos store in Croydon with intent to steal. They broke down in tears as they were led to the cells.

District Judge Robert Hunter said: ‘The tragedy is that you are all of previous good character, each of you well educated. However, I can’t ignore the context in which these offences were committed. You have played your part in a wider act where devastation was caused to businesses and local residents. In my view, although I’m retaining jurisdiction, the matter is so serious that only a custodial sentence will suffice. That, I hope, will serve as a deterrent to others.'

Their lawyer told the court: 'Their parents have found it really very hard to fathom what’s going on. They have accepted their guilt, there’s no doubt that they are remorseful. They all work. If it all kicked off again tonight I don’t for one second think you would find these ladies anywhere near.' .... Well not for the next few months at least

The press around the world loved it, and reported with ill disguised glee on the 'model rioter' and the sub editors were having a field day with the headlines ....

Default Model: Rachel Hatton

Way back when in 2009, the Miss Great Britain beauty pageant was restricted to single ladies who had no children ..... now like virgins older than 16 (and how many are there of those these days ), these were getting increasingly thin on the ground, and the competition was starting to struggle to find contestants in the UK. So a crucial decision was taken to open up the competition to single mothers and divorcees (or so I am led to believe).

So enter one Rachel Hatton, divorced single mother and fame wannabee .... in 2010, she was the first single mother to take part in the 65-year history of the Miss Great Britain competition. All started well and she won the regional title of Miss Warwickshire, ahead of going on to compete in the national finals of the contest, where she lost out to eventual winner 20-year-old law student Amy Carrier, from Liverpool (lets hope they became friends! ).

And so another blow was struck for 'wimmins lib', and a barrier shattered, or so everyone thought (if there is anyone who cares). Then came the news reports suggesting that all may not have been as it seemed, and that she may not have been strictly speaking a 'single' mother

Welfare Benefit Fraud investigators have accused her of falsely claiming housing benefits, council tax, income support and legal aid worth £22,000 ($34,918), while claiming to be a single mother, when in fact, they allege she was living with her erstwhile 'landlord' as 'man and wife'. The 'landlord' and her co-defendant, has also been charged with providing a false tenancy agreement in order to support the offences, covering the period between May 2009 and January 2011. Its important to note that they both deny the charges, and the case has been passed for a court date ....

We await the outcome with some interest .....

Trivia:
  • She was the first single mother to take part in the 65-year history of the Miss Great Britain competition .... and she may be the last

Default Actress: Corinne Mae Griffith

Corinne Mae Griffith was an American actress and general polymath. She was acclaimed as one of the most popular film actresses of the 1920's, and widely considered at the time to be the most beautiful actress of the screen. She worked as a dancer before she began her acting career at the Vitagraph Studios in 1916 before later moving to First National studios where she enjoyed great success.

However along came the great nemesis .... 'sound'. Her first sound film, 'Lilies of the Field', was released in 1930 to poor reviews with the 'The New York Times' stating that she "talked through her nose". Also the fact that her her acting style was described as 'wooden', and that she couldn't sing, meant that shortly after the release of a second 'talkie' (the British film 'Lily Christine'), she retired from film acting in 1932 after 71 movies, and starred in a touring production of Noel Coward's "Design for Living" in the mid 1930's, her only theatre work.

She then turned her hand to literature and became a successful author. She went on to publish eleven books including two best sellers, 'My Life with The Redskins', and the memoir 'Papa's Delicate Condition'. Although no singer, in 1950 she joined the 'American Society of Composers and Publishers', collaborating musically with Barnee Breeskin. Her song compositions include "Hail to the Redskins", "Chanson du Bal" and "October".

She also ventured into real estate dealing, where at one point she owned four major office buildings in Los Angeles, each of them named after her. So much so, that when on July 13, 1979 aged 84, she died of heart failure in California, her personal estate was worth over $150 million (making her possibly the richest woman in the US). She had been married four times.

However here comes her moment of strangeness

In 1966, she married and divorced her fourth husband the Broadway actor Danny Scholl. Scholl was a mere 45, while she was at least 72, so perhaps the divorce was no surprise (although after less than a week, it was eyebrow raising). However it was when it went to court that things became really wierd, when she testified that she was not in fact 'Corinne Griffith', but in reality Corinne's previously unknown younger sister. This 'sister' was the younger by twenty years, and that she had taken 'Corinne's' place upon the famous sister's death.

What made this even more of a fortean event was this statement flatly contradicted the testimony by actresses Betty Blythe and Claire Windsor, her long term friends, who had both known her since the 1920s. This did not faze her nor shake her story. As late as 1974, Adele Whitely Fletcher, editor of 'Photoplay', said Griffith was still claiming that she was her own younger sister.

Trivia:
  • She was dubbed "The Orchid Lady of the Screen".
  • In 1929, Griffith received an Academy Award nomination for her role in 'The Divine Lady'.
  • She made a brief return to the screen in 1962 in the low-budget melodrama Paradise Alley, which had a small release.
  • 'Papa's Delicate Condition', which was made into a 1963 film starring Jackie Gleason about the Ghio and Griffin family. Unusually the film used her actual family names were used in the film.
  • She was a follower of the Christian Science religion.
  • For her contribution to the motion picture industry, Corrine Griffith has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 1560 Vine Street.
  • Her third husband, George Preston Marshall, was founder and longtime owner of the Washington Redskins.
  • Corinne's claim not to have been the silent actress Corinne Griffith during her 1965 divorce trial, inspired the Tom Tryon novel 'Fedora' which was later filmed by Billy Wilder and released in 1979, coincidentally the year of her death.
  • She was a prominent supporter of Republican politics in the state of California.

Unfortunately I can't claim to be the first to discover this moment of madness (possibly literally ) ... she has a small but comprehensive thread here already. Therefore a few selected pictures only (but as usual pics are cleaned up, resized etc by me), and also as usual all follow ups to her thread please

Default Actress: Brooke Mueller

Brooke Mueller is an actress and a real estate agent (that says a lot about her skills as an actress ) ..... while at school she became a cheerleader and life just got better when her mother married a billionaire So the future looked all set for plain sailing cos lots of money opens up all the doors in the world .... so firstly she tried 'acting' (or possibly just over emoting) .... her first TV show was 'USA High' in 1998. She went on to feature in three straight to video kinda movies. She has since turned to reality TV shows in which cameras follow the daily life of someone else, and she just turns up as their friend, in case anyone cares. But although I would like to say that a crime against acting was enough to feature here, sadly its not, so we have to turn to her personal life.

Now a while back someone asked if they could post the pornstars of Charlie Sheen here (that's a big NO by the way - see here for explanation, if any needed), but I have come up with a better alternative ... in May 2008, Mueller married the actor Charlie Sheen. Even that wouldn't qualify her because she can't be responsible for his drug fuelled excesses, and by 2010 the marriage was over (divorced 2011). She was granted a restraining order against Sheen on the grounds that she was "very concerned that he is currently insane".

But as is the way of these things, no sooner has she removed this issue from her life, than she starts down the same life trail as her ex .... she had a bit of previous in this department, having been arrested in September 1996 for DUI and property damage, after she crashed her Chevy Corsica into a road sign. But the case was ultimately dropped (money talks, and justice walks ).

She was in trouble with the law again in 2001 when she was arrested for cocaine possession. And also once again the charges were dropped, this time after tests revealed she had no drugs in her system when arrested. But, as the old adage goes, theres no smoke without fire .... In July 2011, she successfully completed a 45-day outpatient rehab program, for alcohol and drug addiction - she had entered it voluntarily after seeing the state of herself on the Paris Hilton show.

Sadly this sobriety and drug free life lasted but a few months, and on December 3rd, 2011, she was arrested again suspicion of assault (she allegedly assaulted some woman at a drinking establishment), and felony drug possession with intent to distribute. In addition to cocaine possession, Brooke was also booked on a misdemeanor 3rd degree assault charge. She was released from the Pitkin County jail on $11,000 bond. She later pleaded guilty to possession of 4 grams or less of cocaine.

An the insider reported to the press that "No one can get through to her, not her parents. Not Charlie. Even the thought of losing her twins isn't enough to keep her sober." ... All court records will be expunged after her completing 1 year of probation.

Trivia:
  • She is the stepdaughter of actor John Fiore.
  • Her half-sister is Sydney Wolofsky.
Pictures:

Surprisingly I found no thread for her ... and perhaps even more surprisingly she has largely kept her clothes on .... these seem to be as risque as she has got

Default Singer: Grace Jones

Grace Jones is a model, singer and actress. Born in Jamaica but brought up in the USA, she was a frequenter of the New York City nightclub 'Studio 54' with Andy Warhol, and this led to her securing a record deal with Island Records in 1977, which resulted in a string of dance-club hits. She also dabbled in movies, starting with the 1973 film 'Gordon's War', and then some low-budget films in the 1970's and early 1980s.

She went mainstream in the 1984 fantasy-action film 'Conan the Destroyer' alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, and later in the 1985 James Bond movie 'A View to a Kill'. In 1986 she played a vampire in 'Vamp', and in 2001 she appeared in 'Wolf Girl'. Not averse to TV work, in 1978, she appeared with French model and singer 'Amanda Lear' in the controversial six-episode Italian TV series 'Stryx' (which featured nudity).

In February 2006, Jones was the celebrity runway model for Diesel's show in New York. Her career has been chequered to say the least, with various stage performances and tours e.g. In April 2010 she performed at the Royal Albert Hall, receiving rave reviews, but also with a number of albums unreleased .... but she carries on, with another album said to be due in 2012.

Oops:

Needless to say there have been many interesting moments .....

In 1981, Jones, appearing on the Russell Harty show, she caused a controversy by slapping chat the show host across the face live on air, after he turned to interview other guests and she felt she was being ignored. This topped a 2006 BBC poll of the most-shocking British TV chat show moments.

In April 1989 she was arrested at the home of the entertainer Chris Stanley in Stony Hill Kingston Jamaica, she was facing cocaine possession charges when she was to appear before the magistrates. Guess what happened next? She then delayed and prevaricated and eventually after the seventh postponement the magistrate issued an arrest warrant. She apparently resolved all this later (no reports but she's still walking the streets), and is said to have addressed her drug habit .... but not her temper.

In April 2005 Jones was accused of verbally abusing a Eurostar train manager in a quarrel over a ticket upgrade, which she was told she had to pay for or leave the VIP area, and she refused. She was reported as grabbing the female train manager's arm and swearing at her in French and English, and after being threatened with arrest, she was escorted off the train by three British Transport Police, later saying that she had been mistreated .... Eurostar issued a statement "We are not pressing charges but we will not tolerate any verbal or physical abuse from anyone against passengers or staff on Eurostar".

In July 2005, She was reportedly threatened with arrest on an airplane at London's Heathrow airport after her flight had landed - She flew into a wild rage, shouting abuse at shocked cabin staff after her demands to be escorted to the executive lounge was politely refused. Once again the police were called and faced with arrest, she calmed down left the plane, resulting in an embarrassed Jones boarding the 'plebs' bus after all.

No doubt there are other incidents, but these are the ones I found with a quick web search ....

Trivia:
  • She became a muse to Andy Warhol, who photographed her extensively.
  • She had a song on Eddie Murphy 1992 film 'Boomerang'.
  • At the turn of the 1970's and 1980's, Ms Jones had a relationship with Swedish actor Dolph Lundgren.
Pictures:

She has a very extensive thread already here, with plenty of images, so just a few representative ones ... as usual any follows up to her thread please.
