The best way to finish off a snake is with, provided ya have some and no firearm is with about 3 sizable lengths of barbed wire wound together and from a distance With a spade, you'll kill it alright provided the snake don't attack ya and miss the bugger.

The subject of Stuart Pearce has come up again in S.A.. For those of you who don't know the story, there was a house fire in Adelaide in 1991 and the place was completely destroyed. When the Police investigated they found the wife and 3 of their 4 kids tied up in the ashes. Luckily for one of the kids he stayed the night at a friends place but there was no sign of the Dad Stuart Pearce. Now for some reason the Police think he's behind it and on the run.. There's been reports he's living in the south east of our state Robe or Mt. Gambier (people say they have seen him) but no solid evidence.. I was thinking today about this and I reckon he's dead.. My thoughts are why do it and especially not leave the state.. The one motive for killing your wife is to claim insurance or keep your assets which obviously he's forfeited. So that's no reason. An argument could possibly be the reason but to torch the place with your kids inside, well if that's the case he must of gone off the deep end. If he's that insane I don't think he could evade the Police for this long. My theory is Adelaide at the time was the capital of Dope (still somewhat) and maybe he was doing deals unbeknown to friends and family members. A little bit like Breaking Bad sort of situation. Everything on the outside looks normal but hiding some type of a shady life. I think that something went wrong and he crossed someone.. They've come in tied everyone up (what they thought was everyone) and set fire to the place while he was bound and gagged.. Then they dumped him way out at sea.. This way you throw the Police off your trail and onto him... Just a theory but what gets me is S.A. a large state small population and yet we have the most weirdest murder crimes (solved and unsolved) out of the whole nation..... Welcome to Snow Town we hope you have a barrel of fun....

Up shyte creek in a barbed-wire canoe without a paddle... isn't that a typical Australian expression?

Al Jazera have recently been showing a series of short docos. about indigenous languages, with one ep. about various efforts to keep alive some Aboriginal languages--presumably those might be a source for a "uniquely Australian slang"? |

No. There isn't many people here who know any native language at all and no real slang based upon a native language. If there is it's derogatory.
I can say hello in a few language's but nothing in any native language. They really have gotten a raw deal here in Australia and it shows badly in certain parts. |

If I lived in Australia, would it feel like I was living in Utopia?
This Utopia? This Utopia? (#2). The latter was on Maori TV last week. Here. Also. Further edit: Bummer, I've just noticed it says they use geo-whatsit to exclude folk from outside these isles from viewing the film online. Last edited by effCup; September 9th, 2014 at 12:32 PM..
