Default Googling rude images

There was a thread for this, it was affecting US googlers only, but must have gone in the crash.

Anyway now it affects all English speaking countries, so I'm reviving it.

Basically google has gone into nanny mode, and you will not find rude pictures unless you add the word porn or nude, to your query, then it works

Good question - you started it before the period that was wiped out in the crash, so it must have been deleted for some other reason.

I'm glad rotobott has brought the issue up again - I had to post this story in another thread because I couldn't find the original one:

http://www.webpronews.com/google-saf...d-more-2013-01

It's annoying. Google has always been my engine of choice, despite the efforts I've had to make to protect my privacy from them. But now even I have been trying Bing. The solution of adding 'porn' or some such word does break through the filter, but it also limits your search.
Code:
"big-titted girls"
"big-titted girls" "porn"
"big-titted girls" "erotica"
The second and third strings both produce explicit results, but different ones. How to know what word to choose? If Google want to go down this route, they should just set up some keyword that turns off the filter but has no other effect.

Interestingly, at least with JavaScript disabled Google offers different options for the filter depending on the UI language, how sick is that?

In German, it is still possible to disable Moderate Safe Search and turn to unfiltered results:

Quote:
SafeSearch-Filter
Durch Google SafeSearch werden Seiten mit pornografischem Inhalt aus den Suchergebnissen herausgefiltert.
  • Strikten Filter verwenden (Beides filtern, anstößigen Text und anstößige Bilder)
  • Moderaten Filter verwenden (Nur anstößige Bilder filtern - Standardeinstellung)
  • Meine Suchergebnisse nicht filtern

But in English, no such luck:

Quote:
SafeSearch Filtering
Google's SafeSearch blocks web pages containing explicit sexual content from appearing in search results.
  • Filter explicit results.

Go figure.

How do the results change if the seach is extended somehow like this?:
"big-titted girls" AND OR "porn" AND OR "erotica" AND OR "photo"

(Please make corrections & alterations as needed. )

Does that help at all?

Adding photo has no effect, erotica and porn get different, but not particularly good results, I use bing now.

If you don't use an operator there's an implicit AND, so:
Code:
birds cats dogs
This returns pages that have all three on. You can add OR:
Code:
birds cats OR dogs
This returns pages that have birds and either cats or dogs or both. Is there a way to use this to get explicit images of, for example, Lady Sonia?
Code:
"lady sonia"
This returns 30,300 results, which are non-explicit. Lady Sonia was chosen to make this number relatively small. Say we try and break through the filter with an arbitrary rude addition like this:
Code:
"lady sonia" "fisting"
That works and returns 51,600,000 results, but the implicit AND means that we're not getting results about Lady Sonia which aren't also about fisting. It's quite a high number, given that Lady Sonia doesn't actually do a lot of fisting, so the assumption is that these results are distorted in some way, ie the word 'fisting' just occurs somewhere on the page. What about:
Code:
"lady sonia" OR "fisting"
613,000 results. But most of the results aren't about Lady Sonia at all, just fisting.
Code:
"lady sonia" "lady sonia" OR "fisting"
46,500,000 results. Fisting doesn't feature much in these results, which is what we'd hope for if they weren't distorted, but Lady Sonia does. Also one is a news story about a Lady Sonia McMahon that is not in any way explicit. Though we don't have a way of knowing what the results 'ought' to be, this figure is closer, though not identical to, the 47,400,000 results obtained by the technique used in my next post.

Default SafeSearch ist in der Tat deaktiviert

So the solution in my last post, based on electile disfunction's idea, produces different results from this, based on retroanalyst's, but what does that mean?

I mentioned this technique for Firefox users in the first version of this thread: install the extension Add To Search Bar and then paste the following into your address bar:
Code:
http://images.google.co.uk/imghp?num=10&hl=da&safe=off&gbv=2&site=imghp&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1366&bih=645
Press return. Now right-click within the Google search box and select 'Add to Search Bar' from the context menu that appears. Then, in your search bar, select the search engine you've just created.

I'm using google.co.uk in the URL but you could use whatever nationality you like - the advantage is that, though the UI is in German, the results themselves will be the ones appropriate to that country. If the expression isn't 'rude' - lovely schoolboy touch to name the thread like that - then the results seem to be the same as you'd get in the normal search engine. Disabling scripting or not seems to make no difference to the actual result, only to their formatting.

If you don't use Firefox, or even if you do, you could get a similar if slightly less elegant result by pasting the string into your address bar, pressing return and then bookmarking the Google page that turns up.

The reason for using either of these techniques as opposed to simply changing the UI language and then saving your preferences are as follows: firstly, people like me with Googlenoia don't have to let them place a cookie on their machine - probably you're not bothered; secondly, once you've changed the UI language to German, you can't stop the results being from German pages as well as English, presumably distorting them - possibly you're not bothered; thirdly, you can continue to do all ordinary web searches and non-rude image searches in English - probably you will be bothered.

Oh, I notice that the mandatory filtering hasn't yet been extended to the Elmer Fudd language...

Just type in XXX after your search , get rid of the popup box and you're back to as it was before the changes.

Hmmm. I don't get a pop-up box, and I do not get any results for VEF using "xxx".
