"(c. 1901 - March 30, 1930) Allyn King performed in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1916 through 1920, the Ziegfeld Midnight Frolic of 1919, and five other Broadway productions from 1921 to 1926. According to an old rotogravure and photo, she performed in the Laceland scene in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1922. According to theatre programs, she also performed in the Midnight Frolic of April 27, 1915 (The Evening Mail), the Ziegfeld Nine O'Clock Revue of September September 22, 1919, the Ziegfeld Nine O'Clock Revue of March 8, 1920 (aka Ziegfeld Girls of 1920), and the Ziegfeld Nine O'Clock & Midnight Frolics of 1920 (May 31 edition). She committed suicide at a young age.

"Allyn King, comedian and Ziegfeld showgirl, was one of the first victims of the new body consciousness that took over show business in the 1920s. Crazed from diet pills, prescribed after directors in 1927 told her she had grown too fat to go on the stage, she lept out a five story window and died from the aftereffects of the fall. A singer, dancer, and charming light actress, King entered the Follies of 1916. She worked for Ziegfeld three years understudying Ina Claire and performing as a Showgirl. In 1920 she created a sensation as the lead in “Ladies Night.” In 1923 she broke an engagement with wealthy Yalie Carl Wiedemann. She starred in six shows, most notably Moonlight." [David S.
