The mobile phone I use for personal is about 10 years out of date, I have a smart phone for work but I don't really know how to use it, many a time I have looked foolish in a meeting, prodding at it and grimacing (I'm a programmer, I'm supposed to know about these things).
I have a good friend whose marijuana consumption for the past 20 years could be described as heroic or idiotic, depending on your politics, and he doesn't believe in any technology post-1998, he still uses dial-up internet, distrusts anything technological that doesn't have wires, and won't watch anything other than VHS and DVD, or listen to anything other than cds. He also once told me about a very unlikely global conspiracy that involves shaving cream (he won't use that either). |

I have a beard trimmer that I've had for close to 20 years. I finally had to put it out to pasture. It got to where, when you turned it on, the thing would work at full speed, then slow down to a stop, then after a few seconds wind back up to full speed again. I assumed it was the battery going out. It was as cheap to buy a new one as replace the battery.
My mother has a hand mixer that she got at a wedding shower back about 1960, and the sucker still works. |

Regarding old post-office technology, I just realized I have most of a package of those bubble padded CD mailers tucked away next to the "old computer stuff" boxes.
Not much use for those nowadays.

I'm an electrician by trade and still use analogue meters, hate the digital meters when the LCD readout has the numbers going crazy when what you're measuring is fluctuating wildly That ol' needle analogue meter reacts nice and fast

I was going to put an Analogue watch, but any type of wristwatch seems to be becoming a thing of the past.

No cell phone for me I still use only a land line and will till I die I do believe.
My son keeps trying to get one so in burial plans I have instructed them to bury me with a brand new one and have the attorney tell my son I finally got one. |

Still prefer the 'mil' compass over GPS when using topography maps. 'Muricans still use degrees compass - oh well. Still know the conversion scale for mils to degrees and vice versa if we ever worked with American troops.
Like was previously mentioned by a few people - still have hand mixers and sometimes use them. There are other items in the kitchen that aren't 'powered' but preferred. |
