FYI
Some Days ago i decided to update my Windows10-Drive to the latest Version 17.03(Redstone 2)!
As you can see here, these are my Configuration of Hardware. It took nearly 5 Hours(!) for this Tasks!!! Sometimes i thought my PC wouldn't respond anymore, most time it showed something like this screen with no change of the indicator. So, if you're willing to update your Machine i suggest to have some more cups of your favourite drink at hand |

I almost hate to say this, but... I just bought a new Dell laptop. Naturally, it had Win 10 on it. Wasn't much I could do about that. One update refused to install, but after downloading it from the Update Catalog, it worked fine.
I got the 1703 update. Everything went quite smoothly. I'll have a White Russian, if you please. Normal size.

I find Windows 10 to be pretty bad , hard to easily find a specific file when you need to alter or delete it , and the killer is when I try to rotate files ( lately its been better ) when you come to upload to
the forum , the photo has went back to the original state , I am made very angry by this as it makes you look dumb . all in all , just not as good as windows XP |

Microsoft's new goof
Here is what Dona Sarkar, a Microsoft employee, told:
Hello Windows Insiders! Many of you discovered that earlier this afternoon, builds from some of our internal branches were accidentally released for PC and Mobile. This happened because an inadvertent deployment to the engineering system that controls which builds/which rings to push out to insiders. The team was quick to revert the deployment and put blocks in place to stop these builds from going out to more people. Our analysis shows only a small portion of folks got these builds. For those of you who received one of these builds on your devices – please read the following: If you received this build (from RS_EDGE_CASE) on your PC: Please be aware that this build was never intended to go out to Windows Insiders and may include issues that impact usability of your PC – more so than the normal builds we give you. You can either sit tight and wait for us to publish a newer build to you or you can roll-back to the previous build via Settings > Update & security > Recovery. And check your Windows Insider Program settings. NOTE: You have up to 10 days to roll-back and this will only work if you did not do Disk Cleanup to remove your previous Windows installation. If you received this build (from RS_IoT) on Mobile: This build will *not* install on your device. If you installed this build, your device will be stuck in a reboot loop and the only way to recover is to use the Windows Device Recovery Tool and re-flash. After re-flashing, you can join the Windows Insider Program again on your device and choose your ring and be back on the right update path. |

I don't have any real problems with Windows 10 now that you can delete or disable much of the crap that you don't want or need. If your hardware has decent specs, it's stable and runs really smoothly. I have super-fast broadband and have never had any issues with upgrades. As for the privacy issues that people complain about, it's the same if you use Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon Echo, etc. You're feeding them information and they will try and exploit it to their advantage. I have all my photos, music (45,000+ mp3 files) and docs stored in the Google cloud and I'm always using Google search, GMail and their maps. If they want to send a few tailored ads in my direction then it's not much hassle in return for the free services they provide.

I don't got any issues with Windows 10. The latest update took about twenty minutes and everything seems to be working fine. If anything it seems a bit faster.

Change of attitude at Microsoft's ?
Today, while working on a client's notebook, running Windows 7 pro 64, I noticed an interesting thing:
there was an exceptionnal update (probably related to the recent events). But the clock and the calendar which were on the bureau are still there. I remember that you could not have them anymore because Microsoft deemed the gadgets as being "dangerous". Is this proof that they are not dangerous anymore, now that the period of Windows 10 free install is past ? Besides you still can buy good machines with Windows 7 Pro 64 on them. |
