I hope he succeeds. I just hope the Philly organization doesn't sabotage itself like they usually do.

Now about that Falcons jersey, mate........
Michael Vick may have turned over a new leaf and become an ambassador for the Kennel Club but I have to feel a tad sceptical that anyone who gained pleasure from watching dogs kill each other is now suddenly a nice guy. That sort of sadism is ingrained, like habitual dishonesty. Michael Vick will sooner or later find a way to gratify this appetite for watching and enjoying violence and suffering. In some way, shape or form he will re-offend and he will disgrace any team he is associated with whenever this re-offending comes to light. He is a toe-rag. From Wiktionary:
Quote:
toe rag (plural toe rags)

1. (UK, slang, pejorative) A tramp.
2. (archaic) A cloth worn wrapped around the foot instead of a sock.
* 1994, Willis Hall, The Long and the Short and the Tall, page 5

"Flipping toe-rag! He wants carving up. It's time that nit got sorted out. [...]"
I would not want Michael Vick anywhere near any team which I support for all the tea in China. The Philadelphia Eagles fans who are so indignant about his presence have my sympathy. However it is plainly apparent from his recent form that he, and not Kevin Kolb, is the best quarterback the Eagles can field. The decision to associate with Michael Vick was made in 2009 so the logic is inescapable. Bite the bullet and play your best quarterback and be unambiguous about it.

Nicely done, Brother SIT! They look more like strippers than cheerleaders, but maybe the NFL needs some of that.

On a side note, Have you guys caught any of the Lingerie Football League? Don't worry, it's women in lingerie - not guys .

Ghaleon also squatted on Ourlad's 40 pts his picks are identical to Pukindog's except Puke has 38 pts.

A great problem with American society is the desire to elevate someone to "heroic" status and then discover a chink in the armor so they can then be torn down. Michael Vick is a football player, nothing more and probably nothing less. Is he a very talented football player? Absolutely. Is he a flawed human being who has gone to prison for has transgressions. Again, absolutely. Is he a role model? Despite what Charles Barkley said in the past, yes he is. But the question is, what kind of role model?

Let's look at three of the greatest running backs in NFL history: Jim Brown, O.J. Simpson and Walter Payton. If you want to be a great RB, then these three men are fantastic role models. All of them played the game it's supposed to be played; hard, fast and with purpose. But off the field? Walter was a devoted family man whose contributions to society in general were cut short by his untimely passing. Jim has lived his live as he sees fit, with integrity and honesty. Sure, Jim made some mistakes and paid the penalties for them. And O.J.? A sorry excuse for a human being.

In fact O.J. and Ozzy Osbourne (and I'm insulting Ozzy by putting him in company with a wife-beater, thief and murderer) are perfect examples of negative celebrity role models. Ozzy even told his kids, don't do drugs or you'll end up like me.

For me it's on MTV 2. It's on right now as a matter of fact. But, I think that's a replay. On 9/27 at 11AM EST they have the Dallas Desire VS the Chicago Bliss. I DVR them ever since I found out about it.

I can't really say that I know any of these girls yet though, because I've only been watching for a few weeks.

there is a lot hypocrisy in the world. sure, mike vick did a very deplorable thing with the dog fighting, which he paid for with both prison time and income loss. yet, it's okay when animal cruelty is label as a "cultural" thing. matadors are seen as "heroes" and thousands turned out in the grandstands to see a bull being abused before being killed in the name of culture. a guy who fights dog is seen a bad guy, but those who abuse bulls are seen as "heroes". what a crock!

I for one don't see matadors as heroes. I attended bullfights once in Mexico and was totally disgusted

Hopefully, though, the tide is starting to turn against bullfighting. One province in Spain, I believe it's called Catalonia, recently banned the fights. There was also an incident recently in Spain where a bull climbed up into the crowd and injured many spectators. I hope these things have started a trend towards ending this outrageous cruelty

And there's the other end of the spectrum, the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona. I'd love to be in one of the balconies overlooking the course with some sangria and tapas watching all the idiots getting themselves literally torn a new one.
