Reading Mr. Myerson's blog entry the first question I have is what color is the sky and how many moons are there in it on the planet he lives on? His post is one of the more interesting split personality examples I've seen. On one hand the way he so exactly ignores the problems with W10 its obvious he knows this roll out is a disaster. On the other hand he sounds so chipper and positive in his spin that I want to wrap him in copper wire and see how much power I can generate. It is such a dangerously fascinating example of disconnection from reality. I can imagine the directors in the MS boardroom telling each other "Ya, its a fustercluck but if we can just push thru this and reach that critical mass of installations we'll be able to take over and finally have control!" This whole situation has that terrible fascination one gets watching a train wreck or plane crash. Only this time I'm hoping for the most damage and destruction possible in the hope it does real damage to MS finally.

does anyone else think that the "it's on 110 million devices" line sounds like a line from a sci-fi/action/let's take over the world/hold the world to ransom movie.
i know that way back in this thread someone said the end user agreement would prevent legal action but MS has effectively installed a virus on people's equipment. In most cases without their knowledge or consent, keeping track of internet destinations and modifying their system - all attributes you would associate with virus's? |

News of the Petition to Microsoft
If you signed Susan Bradley's petition to MS CEO Satya Nadella, you are regularly posted on its evolution.
I just received an e-mail doing so. You can be left alone by doing a little tweaking. I did so hoping it works. To do so I added this key in the registry: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUp date When you have created this key you must add a DWORD value which you name DisableOSUpgrade and you set it to 1 like shown below. I hope this helps. Also here is a link pertaining to the matter: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3080351 Last edited by Ernesto75; October 31st, 2015 at 03:37 PM.. |

Go to the directory 'Windows'. Then go to 'Sytem32' and look for Regedit32.exe. There click on it (two times in principle). When it's open your windows is in two parts. On the left you see what's called a tree. Select the third key : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Open it; then go down until you find SOFTWARE. This looks like this : Computer HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT HKEY_CURRENT_USER HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE ...I hope this helps. |

The key 'WindowsUpdate' does not exist.
You must create it without synthax error; it must be in one word. When you have created this key, it appears in your left window. Then you must add a value. It will appear on the right window. You must name it 'DisableOSUpgrade' exactly, in one word. And you set it to 1. That's all. I hope this helps. Last edited by Ernesto75; October 31st, 2015 at 07:39 PM.. |

You right-click. You must see a selection of choices. Choose 'New'. Then 'Value DWORD 32 bits'. And then you just type the name 'DisableOSUpgrade'. And set it to '1'. I hope this helps. |
