At the end of the day, as you say its a matter of opinion. I acknowledge im in the minority. All the Beatles happen to do was be the first band ever to do do what they did, but first doesn't mean best and on that note i still think they are overrated. And Bono is still a tit with a jangly guitar... |

Jazz: WTF is that all about.
A bunch of people that cant play in sync to save their lifes. Each member of the band sounds as if they are playing their part slightly off kilter to everyone else. Makes me dizzy trying to listen to it. Jazz Club... niiice, great. Not. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TebUMhJAKSM watch this its exatly how Jazz sounds for real. There are many Jazz Styles. For example Oscar Peterson's rather synchronic played 'Mainstream'-Jazz. Last edited by Leprechaun; July 12th, 2008 at 12:49 AM.. |

Sting: what an overrated, pretentious, self-righteous, hypocritical jerkoff. He makes elevator music for soccer moms on valiums.
Guns & Roses: music for white trash on crystal meth. Rod Stewart: what a pathetic whore. Bjork: music for pretentious hipsters who want to look cool. (this also applies to Radiohead.) |

referring to that style of music i listen most of the time, i must admit, that current rockbands often "disappear" behind the spirit of the older generation of the milestones in this genre- same as in other categories.to me it seems too technical and without soul, when bands try to break up records with "beats per minute" and coming close to a machinery - like they would represent the industry, they get sponsored by. The "modern times of rock ´n roll" are mostly overrated, i think, the days of real genius musicians are gone - as most of the real geniuses died too fast and live forever.Which band or singer, I detest most? no idea, pherhaps that one, you hear in an elevator.

How the fuck have we got 5 pages into this thread, and anybody is yet to mention those public-school tossbags, Coldplay! If they were playing in my back garden, I'd shut the curtains!
I just don't get it! They're first album was ok (but just ok), then suddenly, curly features goes & marries the lovely Ms Paltrow, & suddenly, they've cracked America. Oh, hang on a minute, I do get it! Now I'm all for my rock on the pseudo-depressive side (being as I am, a fan of Radiohead, Manic Street Preachers, The Doors etc), but this lot are just, erm, crap! I can't even be bothered to think why they're crap, they just are! So my vote goes to Coldplay - Shit Sandwich!!!! |

Can't argue with you good people about most of these pop/rock groups or singers - Can honestly say I've never heard of some of them (More of a Thomas Tallis - Spem In Alium person), however, there is a point I should like to take issue with, and it is this: Anyone who thinks that Sgt Pepper is either The Beatles' best, or is in fact superior to say, Revolver, quite simply has never listened to said Sgt Pepper at all, it is possibly the most overated LP ever.
