Can you identify this skull/vertebrae/whatever?

I wonder if we have any vets here that can identify this piece of bone - I would think it is part of an animal vertebrae but can't see anything similar - probably incomplete or maybe something completely different. No one seems to be able to ID it so far, but our lack of medical/vet knowledge is quite apparent.

Wish I did, but the guy who posted this pic at another site didn't even say where he got the pic or what country/area it was from. Most of the guesses at the other site are joke answers, hoping for a higher level of IQ answers here. Then I can tell them a porn site was smarter than them.

Guessing California as the location.

Hi there Rogerbh!

Reminds me a bit of crayfish, those holes at the top are very similar to where legs fit in & they are made up of many segments.

Might be from the same family, decapods, such as lobsters or a crab maybe?

It appears they got it at the other site. The bottom of the raccoon skull - lower right - has many similarities.

I was thinking rodents (due to the size) and was sure he held it in a confusing way. Then i was stuck

Looks like the back part of a skull from the underside with the whole front sinus region/jaw broken off.

Those zygomatics look really wide. I don't think it's a raccoon skull.
