This is almost impossible to narrow it down to ten. IMO, these albums can't be a greatest hits compilation or a live album. For me, the album has to be one that I have liked since the day I heard it and I still listen to it today. I also find that the songs that get the most airplay on my favorite albums are usually the songs I like the least. My top ten in no particular order.
Exile On Main Street - Rolling Stones Quadrophenia - The Who London Calling - The Clash Songs In The Key Of Life - Stevie Wonder Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs - Derek and the Dominoes Blonde On Blonde - Bob Dylan After The Goldrush - Neil Young Natty Dread - Bob Marley and the Wailers Are You Experienced - Jimi Hendrix Experience Feats Don't Fail Me Now - Little Feat |

Haven't heard Molly Hatchet's Flirtin' With Disaster for ages ... so thanks for reminding me of it! My own favourite version of The Great Gig In The Sky is from the Pulse tour. Sam Brown is sensational and it's a shame they didn't let her do the whole song. There's something about the way she grabs the mike stand and really lets rip that gives me goose-bumps! |
