Several weeks ago I thought I would try to make dinner for my girlfriend. Understand my cooking skills are limited to microwavable stuff only. I bought a wok and stir fry from Kroger plus some olive oil. Read the directions (briefly), poured some olive oil in the wok, turned the oven burner on high, put the lid on it then walked away for no more than 60 seconds. I lifted the lid when I came back and was treated to a volcanic-like surprise similar to this.

Instantly the fire alarm is going off, my dog is howling and ADT is on the phone because the alarm sounded. Now the house smells and I have nothing to cook dinner in (the wok was torched).

It would have been nice to know that olive oil has a low flash point. Too late. Ironically the brand of stir fry was a Kroger line called Meals Made Simple. I think they should reconsider and name them Meals Made Dangerous!

I managed to put it out, but there was damage I had to pay for. And I went to bed hungry.
