At least He had half brothers and sisters. Aunts and uncles from his mothers side also. Cousins from the aunts and uncles too.

Interesting, i never knew that. Which makes me assume they didn't have much importance/significance in the bigger story. Would that be correct?

The Gospel of Mark 6:3 and the Gospel of Matthew 13:55-56 state that James, Joses (or Joseph), Judas, and Simon were the brothers of Jesus, the son of Mary. The same verses also mention unnamed sisters of Jesus.

The Christian Church especially the Catholic Church has done it's best to disregard it as they like to maintain the myth that Mary remained a virgin and worthy of worship.

The Gospels are full of stuff that has been disproved by historical records like Mary and Joseph had to go to Bethlehem because of the Census.
Roman Censuses were carefully documented and never required any movement to place of birth. The Bethlehem myth was just to satisfy a requirement of an Old Testament Prophecy.

The Gospels were written as recruitment literature for a political religious cult they are not accurate historical records in any sense at all.

Doesn't seem many Christians around to answer any questions here, but I'll give it go anyway.

If Jesus had just died on the cross and hadn't come back from the dead or gone to heaven would you still be a 'Christian'?
(This is purely hypothetical of course)

Would you still be a follower and worshipper?

Not to mention that The Acts refer frequently to "James, the brother of Jesus."

Perhaps he did die and did not come back from the dead, and THAT'S the 'big lie' the catholic church has hidden for so long?

I suppose if he did die and did not come back from the dead, and the catholic church had not lied but told us the truth about it, then they would have had to show his writings in order to show he was worth following.

Would the different brands of early christianity have developed differently from the way they did, as many tried to decide on the nature of his being divine and human, or mostly divine or mostly human or what?

I'm more interested in what individuals now think rather than the church.

Aren't his teachings on how to live your day to day life the really important thing rather than (IMO) any frankly unbelievable supernatural abilities.

Buddhists believe that Buddha was just a man and his practical teachings are considered the important thing.

That's what I've always said,It's Christians I have trouble with not Christianity. If more of Them lived by"What would Jesus do ?", We'd all be a lot happier.

God?...........
Humans?......
Jesus?..........an attempt to bridge the gap?

So anyway...... M*hammed marrying a six year old g*rl?
Certainly colours my thinking of everything he ever said about anything.
