Maybe not a million miles from modding mate. although I wouldn't recommend knot tying anymore.

Warm milk in a bottle served in primary school. We weren't allowed to drink it 'til playtime, so in summer it would sit in crates getting hotter and hotter. Alright in winter though.

And being macho at 7 or 8 years old seeing how many lukewarm half pint bottles we could guzzle down in quick succession without being sick....

Default S & H Green Stamps!

I remember my Mom collecting them in the 1960s. The supermarket would give them out based on how much you spent at the supermarket, and you could trade in the stamps to get small household items/goods, like a toaster or dish towels. I remember by the early 1970s it became more hassle than it was worth to redeem them and they went away. Mom had a shoe box full of them.

Interestingly-only a few years back-(about 5-6) one of the NZ supermarket chains 'Countdown' re-introduced the stamp practice...as I recall you got one stamp for every $20 spent-and they could be redeemed on glassware, cookware etc-of which there was always an impressive display of such redeemable items you could cash in your stamps on as you exited the checkout area...
