I use JDownloader (Java version) for 95% of my downloads and it appears to work without a problem. I have "free user" problems with some of the host providers (particularly upload.to) but those problems are probably a result of the particular host's different free user restrictions and my slow DSL.

As for 1fichier, it couldn't be better. I just use Linkgrabber, then put all the available links into Downloader and walk away. I have a very slow DLS (70 KBs) so it takes a while at times, but I usually just let JDownloader work on the links over night. In the morning I have all the "ready to run" video files in the download folder. 1ficier is particularly good for this, since they don't require captcha.

Once in a while I get frustrated, particularly with ********, and like ^pigulici, I use the downloader in my Opera browser.

I keep getting a frozen download at 99% on 1fichier downloads saying 1 sec remaining. No matter what I do I cannot complete the download. With some other hosts you can pause and resume but with 1fichier this says the download can't be completed.

Anyone else? or any suggestions as to what I should do?

have you tried a different browser? sorry it's the obvious reply but there are so many sites which only work with this browser don't work with that one etc.

Thanks m100. I have. I use IE11 or Chrome, but it doesn't do it all the time.

For awhile, i DID solve this unable-to-download-from-1fichier problem i posted about last month, by using a proxy server, then going to the 1fichier DL page for whatever it is i was seeking, clicking on 'download' and voila: it began. NOW, all of a sudden, even THAT doesn't work anymore, and i've tried in 3 browsers: IE, Firefox, Chrome. After the usual song-and-dance to get to the DL page, i click on the 1fichier 'download' button....nothing for about a minute....then it 'flashes' to a blank black screen....and....nothing. No downloading going on, no action, nothin'. Then, when i try again with that same browser or by using a different browser, it infuriatingly scolds: 'you can only download one file at a time' [implying that i've got a 1fichier DL going on already], 'you must wait xx minutes'. Aargh. Any thoughts? And thank you in advance: i wish '1fichier' wasn't the favorite go-to place for uploaders of the larger 500+mb files but so be it, i'm just trying to make the darn things work.
[update]: tried lagerlout's suggestion of disabling my anti-virus, then trying it again. Still no success.

I'm currently using the Pale Moon version of Firefox as I was having trouble with version 36. However, I rather doubt if browsers are the real cause of most people's problems with 1fichier.

What I have found is that if I download from this site after 1.00 AM (UK time), it's fast, with only usually a 5 minute gap between files. But at most other times, it's almost impossible to use and downloading one file can take hours.
