Made some money by investing in Bitcoin, traveled around the world - visiting North Korea was kinda strange but doesn't make him mental.

No comments about women in his life. Wonder when he went into his manifesto writing, Muslim shooting nutter phase - doesn't appear the authorities had much warning he was a threat to society.

I'm shocked to see this happen in the usually peaceful and remote New Zealand, a country of about 5m people and a Muslim population of less than 1%.

Is it possible the perpetrators chose the city of Christchurch because of its name and the symbolic and ideologic meaning it may represent for them? It's still too early to draw any big conclusions about their motives and ideological background but they don't seem like white supremacists to me. The shooter who was streaming his crimes, the Australian Brenton Tarrant, had a Serbian nationalist song blasting in his car and names of several Christian rulers who fought against Muslims in the Middle Ages written all over his guns.

He probably thinks he's the new Charles Martel, "defending" the "Christian occident" from a Muslim invasion.
