. . . in XXX Action Video #1, no month, but it's copyright 1989. The magazine appears to be a reprint mag from Erotic X-Film Guide, so this spread probably appeared there originally. And Penny is not the only porn star present, since Lee Caroll, Micki Snow, and Randi Hart are also present (all three ladies with whom I'm unfamiliar) though she got the lioness' share of the larger photos. Alas, it's not a typical porn spread with a lady or ladies posing lasciviously, but in Penny's case, I've never come across one of those. (Which is not to say that such do not exist . . .)

And here are tighter scans of pics with Penny in them. Unfortunately, the photos are not very sharp, and also have the faded look typical of photos in Erotic X-Film Guide, and the piece was done in a cutesy layout, with the photos in circles, so that a tight scan doesn't give a nice, clean, rectangular blowup of Penny Lane. In the case of the next to last tight scan, I did two versions, one keeping the unknown guy's head in the scan, and, since I was able to eliminate him without losing any of Penny's bod, an alternate version eliminating the anonymous onlooker.

The back cover of the mag doesn't have one of the usual full-page ads for phone sex numbers, or other naughty bits, but is just blank, indicating that they couldn't sell space there. Since the back cover of a magazine is one of the most expensive pages for an advertiser to use. I wonder if there was ever a second issue?

As I've said before, I'm yet to see a photo spread of the lady in a skin magazine, and this interview is unusual for having only one photo of her. Since it's one that doesn't show her face full on, maybe that's a sign that her face put the editors of such magazines off. In any case, here's the photo again, cropped and with that "creative layout" tilt eliminated, plus another photo (in which Lane isn't identified) from another mag and another interview, this time with Victoria Paris, also seen in the photo:

The text in the lower left corner of the second photo is a quote from the interview with Victoria Paris. The photo, taken from the November 1989 Adult Cinema Review, is from the ladies' g/g scene at the beginning of Handle With Care, fourth of the five Carol Cummings Show videos. More notable is the part of that scene in which Paris energetically nails Lane (who's going by the name of "Rene" in the video's credits) with a strap-on.

I haven't recently repeated my usual warning about believing anything in a skin magazine interview, and you're probably tired of reading it anyway. But, if the interview can be trusted, it's interesting that Penny Lane and Carol Cummings had the same agent, Jim South.
