Oh yes the Carry On's of course. There's only one that I've seen a zillion times and rarely tire of it and that's Carry On Camping. Sid James's behaviour in the cinema at the begining of the movie is priceless.....as is Valerie Leon helping Charles Hawtry "get it up" in the camping store

Be not confused my son
Although it would be confusing if it turned out you actually were my son I did say that it was Nine times or More , so if you haven`t seen a film at least nine times you can`t name it here Must have seen this one roughly 15 times and still find it superior to any of the many subsequent sequels. The vibe of it is just spot on because it's ludicrous and horrific , just like life. Also i guess the fact they have the Don of Dudes in the starring role didn`t hurt it's re-watchablity Seen this on the nose nine times , yet still have no bloody idea what the ending is all about Mattie is very good in it too , mind you he's been piss poor in everything he's ever done afterwards so maybe he used up all his creative talent for the part Is much derided (As with the above film) by celluloid connoisseurs , but me i really like the first half of the picture , in fact as horrors go the first half is more or less perfect. Speaking of perfect Renee she looks totally adorable in this throughout , just a shame there were no nude scenes The next is right of my generation (Think we're called the long term unemployable ) . Also one of the first films i ever recorded onto video from the telly. It`s a film i have seen more times than i can recall . Even bought the special release on DVD. Which looking back was a bit daft as there was no commentary and it's shown on digital roughly once a month

Bliss
This was one of the first movies I bought when I was the proud owner of a shiny new betamax.
The story of a story teller who 'dies' in the first few pages, is resuscitated and is convinced that he has 'passed over' and he is now living a hellish version of his previous life. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bliss_(novel) Having read the book numerous times. I used to lend it to new girlfriends, only the last to borrow it found out i was still seeing my previous girl and wrote disparaging remarks all over the 'out of print' cover and throughout the novel. Then kept it! |

Not ashamed to say i have seen this film over twenty times , and still laugh each time the phrase " Deep molasses" is said
For me it`s not only scarily close to my life (No i`m not a gay painter) but written , directed and acted with such believability and well pathos. Something sadly absent in many similar themed films today.

Taxi Driver
Not nine times yet, but close and probably will eventually... and I've noticed quite a few goofs in the process, specifically in the final shootout. The "How's everything in the pimp business, huh"... "I don't know nobody name Irisssss!" scene with Harvey Keitel is hilarious, the music score mesmerising..

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has it's own looney charm,Dennis Hopper bedecked with four chainsaws, the heroine having been chased by the bad guys for most of the movie, suddenly finding a chainsaw and chasing them and Leatherface becoming a trannie,it's all here.
