Apparently, Julie Strain has been in hospice care due to advanced dementia. She's only 57 and that is fairly young but not rare for dementia anymore. I cannot find any more information from November of last year but if she was in hospice, it is a matter of time before the chapter ends. I just started reading the Luxura vampire comic and here's the 90's photo edition with her as the character.

From what's been said on her Facebook page Julie had a motorcycle accident a few years back; in which she sustained a major head injury. This is believed to have resulted in her dementia. Very sad news indeed.
