Everyone in this tournemant underestimated or overestimated matches and this World Cup proved that even with big name players....past results mean nothing.

I'm sure all of the players who have not been involved yet will get some game time, the goalies will have a half each.

If you had told England, they would get in the semi-final, they would have accepted before the WC started. I think it is a great achievement. Congratulations!

Same with Russia. If you had told them they would win games, and actually qualify, no one would have believed it, including me. Tell them they would beat Spain, and everyone would say you were drunk. But it happened

Strange things happen

With the Italians not qualifying, and the Argentines, Germans and Brazilians playing so badly this was a huge opportunity for the likes of England to win the World cup, the Europeans in two years time will be tough, the next World cup in Qatar will even tougher.

England, you blew it.
Hmmm but that's quite a long time that England team didn't look that good.
Honestly if I was an English supporter, I'd be proud of them.

Kane touched the bar, Croatia defender saved on their line....
According to Swiss consultants, there maybe was a mistake of the coach when changing a key player (Stirling) who is according to them unfairly blamed by English medias.

Semi final of the World Cup... That's excellent.
I've never expected to reach a semi-final in a world competition during my all life.

It has been a curious tournament in which a lot of teams with serious pedigree have been cut down to size - for example Argentina and Brazil, Portugal and Spain. Russia did play with heart and spirit and deserved to progress to the last eight. England were a very young and green side but had passion and really wanted to be there - so often I have watched England players who would palpably prefer to be elsewhere and the lack of pride was terrible to see. These guys have shown the right spirit; good for them.

Just before the WC, I've listened French consultants telling:
"That's terribly sad for Russian people to get one of the weakest Russian team ever. They will never reach the play-offs. They are incredibly weak... Russia deserved a better team when organising the Cup."

And finally... they have lost in penalties against a finalist of the WC.

Experts and Consultants sucks.

Lothar Matthaus gave a scathing and honest assessment about how Germany left this WC.

He was talking about hard work and passion....heck, even in the interview I saw him give, he was speaking firm but with passion.
Team Russia showed that in buckets and THAT is why I love the WC.

Nope.... they started the second half in South American style.... racheting up the free kicks, risking and getting the Yellows.

THAT.... was in their locker.

Trips, shoving, time wasting... all the petty distractions for opponents.

Not anywhere near the level of some South American teams though.

This England team are a Planet Away from understanding and dealing with that cynicism ~ imo ~ naive
