Technically this team is very good.
Not that sure that France will have an easy game. Not that sure at all.
That will be the revenge of 1998.
My heart wants Croatia to win the World Cup...but against this team from France....hard to do.

A pity, but England couldn't quite hold it together after starting the game superbly. They dominated the first half but didn't put several good chances away and Croatia held out until the England players tired, and then I think experience counted in Croatia's favour.

Good luck to Croatia; they have won on merit and now have a really interesting challenge in France. But England have way, way, way outplayed their book form and to have come so close to winning a semi-final in the World Cup is no disgrace.

I've to say one thing that seems strong... but that's probably the most technical English team I've seen in my life.... BUT they still are weaker than the best teams technically speaking.

There is maybe something to work in the future with English juniors.

English team doesn't get one or two magicians.
Croatian players had better technical skills.

My concern prior to the game was midfield, they had one, we did not, out we go and to be fair they were worthy of the win. I am left wondering how Lovren avoided a card of any colour.

The Final should be a cracker and for the time being my 20 is still safe.

Well I hate to say it but we underestimated the resolve of Croatia and left ourselves wide open on the wings. Harry Kane never got the chance to shine and Raheem Sterling looked ineffectual again, he needed a goal to,help, his confidence but sadly the only way that might happen is in the third lace playoff against Belgium now, and they will be tough an determined to win too. 22yrs on and history nearly repeated itself but this time not penalties. England have a good squad, and with the players left behind due to injury or left out they can build for the future so I don't think we can write them off and now the European Championships qualifying beckon in September so another chance for Gareth and the boys to show us some mettle. Well done to the boys anyway, you did us proud getting that far.

I'm very happy for Croatia and have been rooting for them since the beginning. What a sensation it would be if they took the WC. But they may be too exhausted to take on France. A fan should never say never!

The first half looked pretty bad for Croatia. They appeared lost and desperate but got their shit together in the second half. What I like about them is how they play as a team. There are no prima donnas who want to shoot a goal at all cost. Modric has been passing too much around even when it was inappropriate. But the team was always his priority.

Sorry for our English fans. It's going to get better next time.

C'mon Croatia!!

Croatia played 90 minutes more than France and has a day less to rest.
That's already a problem.
Maybe their goalkeeper is not at 100%.

Apart that... they have the players to win the cup.

Well done Croatia, you deserved the victory.

What is bugging me right now is the pundits and reporters saying that the England players should be proud of themselves for doing so well, would the Germans, Italians, Brazilians or Argentines be proud of losing in a semi-final?

With the Italians not qualifying, and the Argentines, Germans and Brazilians playing so badly this was a huge opportunity for the likes of England to win the World cup, the Europeans in two years time will be tough, the next World cup in Qatar will even tougher.

England, you blew it.

There's a play-off game against Belgium first. Sucks to be contesting for third place, but this is all in the game; and lets not wallow in it. Belgium will want to beat England and England will want to beat Belgium, and it might well prove to be a very good contest.
