This week, last night, I noticed a little ball landing on a black 8 for a second time in a row, thought about placing a small disc thing on that same 8 , that disc had a number 500 on it, didn't do it though, that same ball landed on that 8 for the 3rd time in a row, Wow !!

Anyway Vannax would find it difficult to comment on this that I noticed on the news

A mutual friend of R Ramjet and I, a soft spoken Ulsterman, was walking back to his quarter from the pub one night. Three youths stopped him and demanded that he hand over his wallet.

Both the police and medical services were called and as the three charvers were being loaded into an ambulance Willie calmly explained to the incredulous Constables that he had merely pointed out to the young men the dangers involved in mugging people. He was going to be arrested when one of the policemen (an ex Para) recognised him from the Falklands and vouched for the fact that he was an upstanding member of the community, an Officer of high renown and a man who was more than capable of delivering the right amount of violence to stay within the law.

This story was told to me by the brother in law of the ex para. Willie was far too modest ever to mention such a thing.

You wonder why Brexit is foundering? A population that "sees things differently" in that they are more than happy to give up any and all means of defending themselves is no threat to a people who now, effectively, own them.

Defend themselves from what exactly?

I know there are a few challenges at the moment - in isolated pockets at the bottom end of society. But I have walked the streets of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland and never, ever felt under any threat of violence whatsoever. Neither have I ever witnessed any violent event here in my 60 years.

The reason is that I can be 99% sure that the people I meet on a British street will not be armed with anything more than maybe a rude word or two and a sharp elbow. That sense of ease is well worth any loss of "freedom" as you define it.

So I fully respect your right to an opinion within the confines of the societal arrangement you experience. I'd just reiterate that I am fully comfortable with the way things are in mine - but thank you for your touching concern on my behalf.
