Cow's milk and coconut milk are both liquids that you put on cereal, have in coffee/tea, and use in baking. They have almost the exact same uses. These products aren't labelled as dairy, and even if they were in the dairy section (they aren't in any supermarket I go in), so what? Do you know anybody who has been confused by this?

And incidentally, apples and oranges are also next to each other in the supermarket. Because it makes sense to put them next to each other, because they're comparable.

Coconut Milk, Almond milk, Soy Milk, Walnut Milk are not made from milk of mammals, it's made from juice of fruits and vegetation. Soy is a vegetation. Soy is Soybean just in case you also didn't know that.

In all the supermarkets I go to and big box stores (Central Market, Safeway, Tom Thumb, Albertson's, Kroger, Walmart, Target, Costco, Sprout's), they are in the Dairy section next to Cow Milk.

Your Apple and Oranges statement also makes no sense in this discussion about Cow Milk and Coconut/Soy/Almond/Walnut milk:

Nobody has ever, to my knowledge, claimed that coconut milk or almond milk are a dairy product. Again, I ask, who is confused by this? And what would you like them to call it, if not 'coconut milk'?

That was your argument, that comparing them was like comparing apples and oranges. I agree, it is a bit like comparing apples and oranges, and I don't think anybody is claiming that apples and oranges shouldn't be next to each other in the supermarket.

I have a friend that lives in London that I haven't seen in 4 years.
