Not sure about the "stable" unless you mean he dresses as stylishly as an agricultural out-building.

So far this week I've noticed that there is a lack of mentioning, by comrade Palo5-ski, of the anti-democratic stuff that's going on in Russia.

Unless of course it is anti-Russian fake news by the corrupt and decadent West, in which case the RT style absence of Criticism of Russia is explainable.

Demonstrations in Moscow demanding allowing additional candidates for city council on the ballot. 900 arrests today.

Thanks. My understanding is that all but one of the candidates are in jail. Do you allow convicts to stand for election? So far as I know, you don't even allow them to vote, even after they're released

But in the UK you have to be tried in front of and convicted by a jury and then sentenced to prison by a judge who belongs to an independent judiciary in order to be denied your right to vote. Not that our criminal justice system is perfect, far from it, but we don't lock people up for political reasons, and we don't have political prisoners. Sometimes in my more bitter moods I wish we could - Nicola Sturgeon would be my first pick for the Tower of London. But I know rationally that this is unBritish and on the whole I accept that annoying people making lots of noise are just part of the price we pay for being a free country.

Incidentally, its only people behind bars who can't vote. Even parolees out on license can and do vote.
