The Google Chrome and Extension thread
I saw no thread for Chrome so I started one. (Mods if you think that it makes more sense to combine this thread with another one please do so)
I have used Chrome for a long time and recently had some serious issues which I was able to fix. I was bombarded with adware and my searches were being re-directed to various ad sites. I tried running Norton and spybot against this stuff with no help. I then went to Chrome help. The first suggestion was to delete all toolbars - this took care of all of the adware. Chrome then suggested deleting all extensions which finished off the redirecting. End result a happy camper. The anti virus and anti malware software that I used apparently does not view adware or re-direction "software" as malware. I don't understand this. I hope that my solution help others. |

the nsa-gold-user-plugin for chrome gives you the opportunity to gain a high-priority place in Maryland's critical ip-stack. LIFO for free!

Hi Hos - What the heck does that mean? Too much jargon for me if you are serious (I'm so clueless about tech stuff I can't tell)

it's cynical serious
there is no such plugin, but with chrome you won't need any plugin to be closer to the nsa-fuckers. we know Google search stores your search keywords, what do you think what an entire google browser will do for your privacy?

I'll believe ad-blockers have been totally neutered when it happens
If they dont work in Chrome you use S R Ware Iron (chrome with privacy issues removed) Linked in previous thread about chrome post 20 http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...1&postcount=20 As for add-ons / extensions - be careful what you use The google playstore has been caught with its pants down several times now with popular apps turning out to be data harvesters Best Chrome Extensions with guides Ghacks is a technology news blog that was founded in 2005 by Martin Brinkmann. A question about the "no-script lite" extension for Google Chrome.
After happily using "no-script lite" for over a year, it appears to have suddenly developed a mind of its own. I have always had it set to notify me when a site was attempting to run scripts, and I would then decide whether to add that site to my white list. This is the icon I normally see in the upper right-hand corner of my screen. This morning when I opened Chrome and began surfing, every site was automatically allowed to run scripts. I could not figure out how to find my white-list, or how to change the settings. This is the new icon I saw in the upper right-hand corner. Eventually I gave up, deleted the Extension, restarted my Chrome browser, and re-installed no-script lite. It returned in the "User's Choice" format that I prefer. So . . . . . - Why did no-script suddenly change? - If it happens again, how can I change it back to "User's Choice"? |
