There was the "News of the Future" segment where Dan Rowan reported on a story about President Ronald Reagan, 20 years before the fact and that the Berlin Wall would come down in 1989.

I was 10 years old when Laugh-In premiered. Even at that young age, I thought it was uproarious.
When I became a fan of the Benny Hill Show, in the late 70s, I thought that, in a way, it reminded me of Laugh-In. Both shows had short jokes, extended sketches, and comedic musical numbers. Last edited by Navvet; July 27th, 2011 at 07:52 PM.. |

A buddy of mine was crazy about Goldie when the show was on and I never quite got it- until one night a saw her do a legit dance routine on another show: Wow!! What legs and all, I didn't know she actually started out as a Vegas showgirl!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYCvOmQLgS0 I first saw this show around 1980 on RTE2 (Ireland) which screened only imports in its early years. Made me laugh then I'm sure it would now - if only someone would show it! |

Loved it!!
They were forerunners like the Smother's Brothers. The comedy skits for both shows were so far ahead of anything else on TV then. If you remember the shows they even had some very surprising guests from time to time. I wish I could find the entire series on DVD.

These are classics of comedy, even if some of the jokes are dated.
Pity they are on Rapidshare, which of course is now defunct. Thanks for the memories. |
