adding attachments

I cannot find the 'add attachments' button so that I can post images off my computer rather than just adding a URL link?

Any ideas why and how I can add attachments as stated?

I'm not sure what you are trying to indicate with the question mark, but such a button does indeed not exist.

You can't, this forum has disabled attachments ~10 years ago.

They disabled it less than ten years back; or I'd never have posted in the early years myself... More like four years at a guess.

Easiest way to post is also fairly simple. Go to an image uploader like Imagebam, then upload your pix to there, choosing the 180x180 size option, copy the first section of boxed code that will pop up & then drop it into your post here after your text. You'll obviously need to have two tabs open at same time to do this, but it's surfing 101 really.....

I believe that attachments were disabled back in 2007 once VEF and PSuzy were bought by Simon due to lack of server drive space. They have never been enabled again.

That has to be incorrect Jenny, as I was using it for first couple of years if not longer; and I only joined in 2007. As I recall, the image loader vanished during some update to the vBulletin platform, after one of its many crashes, but then it was just never replaced afterwards...

I joined in April 2008 and it was disabled then.

Then how did I make most of my posts using that method? Only began using Imagebam & then Imagevenue in last few years... Didn't post pix for a while after this site's own uploader vanished. Was always much easier to use the inbuilt image uploader than go elsewhere? I was basically to lazy to go find out how to add them thru a separate source...

It's crazy that two mods; both of whom I respect; remember this changing much further back than I do.... I really do think that our clocks & calendars are running to different speeds & dates... lol.

I think you are mistaking the P&H plugin for attachments. The P&H plugin is a picture host. Totally different than the built in attachment feature for VB.

Well it was pictures I was posting? 2000 posts worth as i recall until it vanished?

The icon that is where the current 'quote message in reply sits' right as i type this now; above the list of icons. You used to use that to add images, which would appear in the panel below, then you added them into the post at the end, rearranging your text as you wished... This must be where the confusion has occurred...

See, I knew we weren't all going mad... well not all of us at least...
