'Star Trek' crew acts out scene among commuters on London train

Feb. 15 (UPI) -- A bemused passenger on the London Underground captured video of a bizarre performance featuring actors in Star Trek uniforms on a crowded train.
The video, recorded Wednesday, shows the performers in Star Trek costumes standing among the passengers on the Metropolitan line.

The actors recite a scene about being on the bridge of a starship, and engage in coordinated movements when their "ship" comes under fire from "laser phasers."
''I was sitting on the tube when these group of actors got on and began performing a scene of a captain and crew on the bridge of a starship,'' the filmer later wrote online.

The purpose behind the performance was unclear, as were the identities of the actors involved.

Following the release of two golden beers to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Trek in 2016, New York’s Shmaltz Brewing is set to unveil three new officially licensed Star Trek brews in 2017.

The first of these releases, is Star Trek Klingon Imperial Porter, which will be available in 4-packs at retail locations in 35 states across the U.S. and in select bars later this year.

According to the press release, the Klingon Imperial Porter has “ruby undertones that pay homage to Klingon Bloodwine and fallen warriors who hold honor above life.”
