Art. Probably quite a few here on VEF can remember seeing him, as more than a few posters seem to be around my age, 63... and it is largely a matter of age and opportunity. 'themidlander' has a VERY impressive list over at the "best concert" thread: http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...8&postcount=18 Who I missed is a much larger group. In 1965, the Stones played 40 miles away in Fresno, Calif., to a crowd of only 3 or 4000. We moved that summer, and if had been a year, or even 6 months sooner, I'd have been there with the new friends I made. It was in a football stadium (which looks empty), regular tickets $3.50, only $1 if you didn't mind sitting behind the band. Here's a local news report that itself looks to be 20 years old at least. Some good, if not much, footage of the band onstage and at their motel, including Brian Jones(!!!). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wsIPzGaaIM Went to San Jose State from 1968-70 and did not get to the Fillmore nearly enough. Missed scores of bands. Had a chance to go to Altamont with friends, but decided against, which turned out to be very lucky indeed. Last edited by ubu55; November 11th, 2011 at 09:59 PM.. Metallica on the Damaged Justice in '89, phenomenal show. If you've got the Live Shit box set, the Seattle show on it is pretty much the same show I saw.
Nine Inch Nails on the Fragility 2.0 tour in May of 2000. Amazing intensity and visuals. Saw them in Miami and the arena was next to the basketball arena where game 5 of the Knicks/Heat series was playing the same night! It was hilarious seeing all the basketball fans walking by checking out all of the goths on display. |

Went to 1970 Humble Pie Concert in Glasgow with brother and friend .
Got really drunk before show, bought bottles of cheap fizzy faux champagne Band started, we shook the bottles like fuck and fired the corks at stage. Got arses kicked by cromagnon bouncers and thrown out violently on to rain drenched streets. |

I went to the 1990 July concert Paris la Defense by French synth artist Jean Michel Jarre - Bloody hell, what a show, musically and visually. Over 3 million people crammed into the streets to view the concert, which was a free one. In 1988 I was at his London Docklands concert too.

Well...I don't have the ticket anymore, but here it is at the left bottom corner of the poster hanging over me sick in my bed way back then..
Yeah baby! It was a ticket for Cream, at Madison Square Garden, one of the shows that were recorded in the making of the live sides of the "Wheels of Fire" album! |

G3 -Satriani/Petrucci/Gilbert
This was guitar virtuoso night all very excellent.Paul Gilbert gave an extra special performance because Greensburg,PA is where he was raised for 14 years.Satch and Petrucci are very tremendous guitar talents and probably have never given a substandard show. This night was no different they all gave the audience their moneys worth.
Really good show in theater setting. Not a bad seat in the house and superb acoustics. The Palace Theater has been a major force in Westmoreland County's cultural scene for generations. Opened September 2, 1926, as the Manos Theater, The Palace Theater today hosts the widest variety of live entertainment in the area in a beautifully renovated 1369-seat facility, located across from the county courthouse at 21 West Otterman Street in downtown Greensburg, PA.

Robin Trower Pittsburgh
Saw Robin Trower twice in Pittsburgh,Pa.The first time was in 1999 at Graffiti & then in 2001 at The Metropol why the tickets say Bill Wyman & The Rhythm Kings I don't know but that's what I got when I showed up for will call.
Both shows were at small venues and the performance was supreme each time.Trower is a fabulous player and a living legend To be able to watch his guitar playing so close was a great experience that will stay with me for a very long while.
