Telescopic stabbing sword! not very effective when stabbing but the person you pull it on, suffers from hysterical laughter, giving you time to leg it!

Default Chuka Umunna - the people's friend.

It's good to know that the voters of Streatham are being represented by a true champion of the downtrodden masses; a man who will defend their pay and conditions of work. Their MP, Mr Chuka Umunna, wants to retain the services of an "intern" to administer his office for a year, and not pay for anything except a small travel pass. Apparently this is ethical, because the person concerned will be a student on student finance and it will all be part of their politics degree course.

But this isn't study or work-experience; it is proper work. The person employed will be racking up their student debt in order to work for a year for nothing. Only those who can afford to spend a year of their lives working hard for no money while racking up extremely serious debts need bother to apply; which will mean that someone else is being done out of a proper job and the opportunity to gain skills and connections in Parliament is closed to anyone who needs a fair day's pay for a fair day's work.

I would expect this from a Tory - they are not on the side of ordinary people. But Mr Umunna is a Labour MP, and Labour are committed to enacting a legal ban on the use of unpaid interns; but Mr Umunna seems to be out of step with his party on this one. Then again, he is also a champion of the free movement of labour, which has for years now been a means to import cheap labour and undermine the pay and conditions of British workers in their own country.

Such scum-sucking hypocrisy leaves me speechless with admiration.

Actually for your info dickwad I actually did have a stroke three years ago and have recovered all but the use of my left arm, is it not time for you to put your crayons away and go to bed?
So it's all right to call someone a dickwad in this thread with impunity and disparage them as long as their views do not coincide with the echo chamber here. If this is so then may I have a list of allowable diatribes that I may sling at the ***** in this thread that I may encounter. TIA
Oh BTW Mr. "Waste Management Consultant" I agree with your choice of moniker

Labour on the armed forces.

Dependents: 'The existing legislation is correct.' Whilst in Government. MP of constituent killed in action, Labour, 'nothing can be done, although I agree the legislation is out of date and should take into account the change in society.' Attitude of MP in Regiments base area, Conservative, 'This is a ridiculous out of date piece of ruling, all dependents of service personnel who are in a committed relationship, especially if there is a child or children involved should get full compensation.' Despite the fact that it was not his constituent, he forced the issue into the National Press, and the Labour Government surrendered within seven weeks!

Veterans: Veterans had been waiting for up to thirteen weeks for support from service charities because service records took that long to come through. Despite the case being in Millibands Yorkshire constituency, that bought this to my attention, the local labour party were not interested, I took it to a Cornish Conservative MP, who wrote to the Minister in charge of veterans affairs, he pressed him and it now takes between 24 and 72 hours for that information to be in the hands of the charities, electronically!

More service personnel lost their lives and were seriously injured under the Blair Regime and its aftermath of wars, than any government since Korea. It took the Conservative TA officers in Parliament to ally with the press and the public to get compensation increased from £15000 and a small pension, to £75000 and a realistic pension.

The Conservatives have not sold £420 Billion of the NHS to private companies under PFI, they have not sold another £220 Billion of Education, the Academies, Local Authority and Emergency Service to the private sector, they have sadly been stuck with the debts!

No Conservative has lied to the young people of this country by promising to end tuition fees, just to go back on that policy the moment they lost the election, Tuition fees were introduced by Labour, the Tories have tried to fight the open border EU system, unsuccessfully, and to cut immigration, and deport illegal immigrants, all of which gets them nothing but condemnation, whilst the same folk who criticise condemn immigration and the negative affect on wages!
