Default .MP4 file problem

In some mp4 files i realized that it just plays but no screen just audio. But it plays and gives black screen. Is that caused by missing codecs? If so how to fix?

Sounds like missing codecs indeed. Which player(s) do you use?

Download the K-lite codec pack. It has every codec included.

Dowload standard, full, or mega and you will get the
Media Player Classic Home Cinema, which will play absolutely everything.

Default Dealing With The Black Screen

Dear Contributors,

MP4 files usually need the H.246 Codec to decompress video.

If you already have VLC Player installed, you can do this:

Launch VLC Player and click > Preferences

1.Show all setting by selecting All, and select H264 video demuxer from Input / Codecs > Demuxers > Demux module. Next click the “Save” button.

2. Now you can open the H264 video with VLC media player.

You can also download K-Lite Codec Pack (using MPC Player) as another member advised.
My preference would be to download the latest VLC Player, since its more straightforward than MPC player.

Also note "black screen" can be caused by video driver issues. Discover which video card you have and update it (to the latest for your Operating System)- only from the video driver manufacturer website. Once you have the latest video driver installed, you'll experience less playback issues.

Finding your video card (hardware) : Quickest Windows Way:
  1. From the Start menu, open the Run dialog box.
  2. Type dxdiag. (no fullstop)
  3. Click on the Display tab of the dialog that opens to find graphics card information.
