Imagebam: Turning pics
Any help available?
I turn the *.jpg scans (with different apps), but after uploading with Imagebam the pics appear in the direction I scanned them. in former days this did not happen. Got it on my own. Have to save the turned scans with irfanview and the keep turned.

If you are using Windows you can open them in your pictures and click preview and the tools appear to turn them , then they are stored in any direction you want

@ Sandhunter,
Can I just check that you saved a 'right-way-up' version of each pic, and then uploaded that saved version to imagebam? Just a quick experiment: Hmmm. I've just got hold of a pic from my pics folder, saved it as a jpeg, then flipped it and upped it to imagebam and then posted it here. I had wondered if an upside down pic needed to be saved as a right way up one and then upped to imagebam, but I was able to flip the above pic in windows picture and fax viewer and post it via imagebam. So, overall, I don't think I've been any help at all.

Windows 10

Meanwhile I discovered that if you turn the scanned images with "irfanview" and save them, they keep the direction even on imagebam.

So in Windows-10 I have now discovered instead of flipping them in pictures I can flip them in file explorer and then they stay flipped
It is strange that in 10 you are not able to do this in pictures not sure if I will keep 10 , I will try it for another week thanks |

Hi guys.Apologies for me being, still a complete computeridiot, but I still can´t grasp what´s going on or how to make it work.
I just took some pics with my phone, saved them in a folder, and there they look just as I want them, but trying both Imagebam and Imagevenue, half of the pics changes to upside down,or on the side when trying to post them. I also recently changed to Windows 10,but there´s no problem when I save pics from the net,and post them here in the forum,it always work. How come my own pics get scrambled? I´ve tried to follow your leads and suggestions, but I can´t figure it out. When I choose only one pic to view in FF or GC for example,it also opens like it should, the way I saved it in the folder. If anyone can easily explain what I should do,without downloading extra stuff,or changing back and forth between programs,I would be forever thankful. A beautiful morning turn sour, bah. |

images contain metadata, and one of these metadata settings is able to modify the display direction (exif/orientation). if the image viewer is configured to take care of this exif-setting, you'll discover this (imho irritating) effect.

Thanks for input/help/advisory in this matter.
Finally I installed irfanview, and like a miracle I could resave them, and when I uploaded them again via Imagebam,it works! My heartrate went down quite a bit,so now I can take more pics, and hopefully use them without to much problems. What would I do without this forum. Cheers Tf |
