An Erotic History of the Occult

We begin our descent into the arcane at that heady nodal point in time known as the 1960s. While it is common to dissect the socio/political upheavals of this pivotal moment in history, we must also remember it was an era of great spiritual transition, in which the Judeo-Christian yoke was violently torn asunder along with all monolithic structures of establishment religion and mythology.

Into this spiritual void came a longing to connect with the natural world and the ancient, suppressed magics of our ancestors. A new, or neo-paganism became the ideal outlet for this need and it was here that was reborn what we now call the Wiccan religion.

In 1964 a beautiful blonde secretarial school student named Maxine Morris heard the call of the ancient rites and became initiated into the coven of English occultist Alex Sanders. The two married and during the 1970s became household names in the burgeoning Wiccan movement.

The Sanders' regularly practiced skyclad or nudist Wicca. What follows is a photographic documentation of some of these rituals:

and sex as erotica is not part of the craft

As is true of the nudism movement of which hundreds of images are also featured on this board. The nude body inspires erotic fantasies and that is why it is here.

Further more, erotic aspects of occult/mysticism/alternative and ancient religions have been folded into certain strains of witchcraft. Thelemic Sex Magick, Tantra, etc.

he died quite young if I remem rightly ... maybe Maxine is still going ?

Here's the image of Coven album Witchcraft destroys minds and & reaps souls from 1969. The disc has also "black mass", but I don't know how serious they were when producing this. This was the time when major record companies discovered that occultism could be commercaliazed, other bands were of course Black Sabbath and Black Widow at the time.

My friend's mother owned a book about witches and devil worship which had explicit illustrations in it with the horned devil penetrationing a witch with his over large penis into her vagina but a penis tipped scaly tail that was inside her anus. The book was very well written with historical anecdotes and many religious illustrations made by monks who were depicting the devil and witches in cahoot and having sexual relations. The book was from the fifties and I wish I could get it now to fully appreciate the occult eroticism.
