I am just shy of a fathom tall and weigh in at 13.5 stone. Di-weekly I walk 1540 cubits to purchase a few pennyweights of processed carbs. When I bake at home I usually cut the amount of sugar down to a few scruples. Also it is extremely rare for me to consume even a dram of soft drink on any day. My real weakness is red wine: in good economic times my household may consume, while entertaining guests, a Methuselah a week. Now a days I'm down to less than 1/2 a Rehoboam and honestly its usually less than a Magnum every fortnight!
Guys try this: Despite the fact that Dr. Atkins died the way he did his research was solid: Humans evolved eating fat, protein, leafy greens and whole grains-not processed carbs. Processed carbs are empty calories and only drive hunger up. Plan your meals for a week and buy lots of meat, fish (or omega 3 supplements: very important), eggs, bacon, butter, cheese and greens. Eat as much of everything as you can. It took me three days of eating this way before I really began to feel full. No processed carbs!!! On day three I felt really full, over the next five days I began eating smaller and smaller portions and yet I still felt full. The carb craving would return like a cyclone periodically. I kept bags of nuts and some fresh/and/or dried fruit for these occasions. I also started buying very high quality chocolate ($3-$4 per bar) which made me think twice about mindlessly consuming calories (energy) This strategy worked for me. Also you could just get a divorce and spend two weeks throwing up and living on beans and rice because all your money goes to child support-that was the greatest weight-loss plan ever! I went from a 38" waist to a 32" (I am now a pretty solid 34"). The pounds just melted away-I could have been a Calvin Klein model

Hah security gate that`s laugh , at the front of this building there`s an elaborate com system and massive gate , a well lit courtyard , then locked double doors leading into the lobby. Guess what`s on the other side wall of that well protected lobby though ?. A thin paneled door leading out into the lawless open air , that doesn`t shut properly and you only need to sneeze at to open Ok brace yourself (That`s what i always shout at the scales) First the good news , just weighed myself twenty minutes ago and i`m 18.1. Granted that`s probably only due to me doing an eelcat special beforehand , still i`m closer to 18 so who cares how i did it (Well providing it didn`t cost me an appendage) Now the bad , i have started kinda stupidly by not eating anything until now , which was daft i know but then this day began with the antiquated boiler (How old ?,well it has Blitzkrieg 1939 stamped on the side if that`s any help) dying on me leaving nothing but ice in the pipes and radiators feeling colder than a lesbian at a bachelor party. So i had to try and find Julian the prick , sorry i mean president of this tiny little block of flats , oh i mean apartments. Actually Julie (As i call him) is the live in janitor of this place ,and is a bigger alcoholic even than me (The tales i could tell you about the banter we have, and the ways i try to get on his flabby tits) . Still at least i admit it , this old walking corpse just pops tic tacks in his mouth the whole time. Anyway as usual i couldn`t find the dweeb , and getting in contact with this flats landlord is so difficult i sometimes think i should hang up the phone and consult a quja board !. Long story short i somehow managed to get the boiler steamed up again . Short story long , i somehow manged to get it too steamed up and it went into the red , except i only just noticed that when i got back. That means an explosion could be iminnnent immminant , er any minute Have turned the boiler off and written my will . I`m leaving everything to the government . Well they`re only going to take it all anyway Only kidding , the pressure has dropped ten percent now , still way over the safe green zone of course but i`m hoping in the next few hours it`ll get itself under control. Hmmmm great segway ! Because speaking of control Must be honest i haven`t done my sit ups or press ups yet , but i have just walked about three and a half miles to Sainburys and back. Also the return stagger home included carrying three heavy bags of groceries . But don`t fret they were`nt full of larger and cream eggs . Nope i bought heaps of natures healthy bounty , in other words fresh veg . Oh and mackerel fillets, some fresh tuna , raw prawns and other godless chew-ables . Did get a whole roast chicken , but i won`t eat it all at once and will leave the skin alone. Right now i`m eating a pretty miserable lunch of peppered mackerel with a tin of beans (Are they carbs ?) , so i`ll be a farting fish tonight so i will jim`lad -Slap- Just realised i was being a prat talking about my lunch being miserable , certainly as the vast majority of this globe could only wish to be in the position of having the chance to even get overweight Anyway as with Brother Tab one of my main downfalls is booze so like him i`m going to make Monday /Tuesday / Wednesday and Thursday drink free . Friday i`ll let rip a little (As i will be doing in a few hours or so now that the final spoon of beans has been swallowed) and Saturday as well , but will have nothing on Sunday onwards and until the next Friday . Sounds lame but i`m quite pleased with myself for not buying any alcohol earlier , and i left the chocolate racks alone as well. Which means i`ve neither in the place and so no temptation Sure the cravings there but i`ll just do what i`m doing right now = Drink ice cold water and once again feel sorry for myself Actually must admit a strong incentive not to buy that booze or multitude of bars was knowing i`d have to then confess all . Also before anyone feels sorry for Julie and begins to wonder why i deliberately arrange things around the small lobby , or in the communal bin area or in the lift or on the stairs etc etc with the specific intention of annoying a man in his late seventies ... Let me tell you that this is the guy who called the BBC three days after i moved in and reported me for not having a TV license , which of course you don`t need to have for at least the first two weeks of a new move. The little sneak , he`s been pissed off with me for months just because on our second time of meeting i called him the buildings custodian. Something i only did because David the landlords agent told me that`s who he was . Yeah i know waaaaaaaaay too much information Hey it`s what i`m like , but don`t just take my word for it ask Tab , he`ll tell you i`m exactly the same away from the screen as i am when in front of it " Fight the good fight fellow self deniers "

If you wanna lose some weight and hate jogging/going to the gym then i would suggest getting yourself a moutnain bike and in the summer when the weather is nice try and go for a 1 hour ride 3 times a week.
It will help enourmously and wont cost you the earth (like a gym membership etc) I still ride a BMX @ 35 yrs old lol During the winter months i always put on about a stone in weight, but once summer comes i go out and try to ride at least 3 times a week (usually street or even the BMX park) The weight just falls off for me and i always am about my correct weight during the summer. I think as humans we are almost pre-programmed to stock up on food & fat for the winter as our ancestors did centuries ago. Add to that the fact we are all encouraged to gorge over Xmas means many people do indeed put on a stone or 2 over winter. Use the summer and good weather to your advantage to get out and be as active as you can. If you have a dog taking him out for long summer walks can also help. But as we all know Beer/Lager is full of calories so try cutting back on that and maybe hit the hard liquor instead lol Good luck with it all GreenSkull

As I type this I'm happily munching on a nectarine - but I do know that there's a lovely piece of veal and ham pie in the fridge just waiting to be eaten. I must resist the temptation to dive into the fridge and eat that juicy pie!!

Fat Bastard Greenskull
Hey, Max Joker , my best buddy is 22stone and has a badge that says ' I'm not fat, I'm just fluffy.' And that just about sums the guy up! How Many Fat Guys do we know who are not Mr Nice and, Largely (forgive the pun) happy, or at least resigned, to being who they are?
My buddy has studied so many diets, he knows how many calories there are in a balloon but freely admitts 'I'm fat because I eat too much and don't move around enough.' He's been a major part in my life for 40 years and, when we were younger, he could charm the keks off any girl whilst I just looked on in wonder. Lets hear it for fat guys everywhere. We just love you!!! |

Controlling weight was a struggle, but much to my surprise quitting drinking was a hell lot more difficult than smoking. The later is a bad habit, whereas a drink is companionship - your comrade if you will. Back then always thought; no matter how bad things are in my life - I love my drink mate. Mind you I was into vodka heavily as well as local spirits (alcohol poisoning you can't imagine ) as well as wine (lots of...) for very long periods. I'm sure I fucked up my liver pretty good, but anyway quit 15th Aug 1999 - cold turkey. Last couple of years I've been tempted - so some Sat evening whilst foruming I've had a couple, but I ain't going back - no way. It's fattening also, so there's another reason for all to cut down on the fucker. Trouble is, it's everywhere - you go shopping at Saintsbury's and it's there looking at you. It does need strong will, but it can be done.

Hey believe me fellow sufferers (Well you`re reading my words so i`m taking it for granted you`re suffering) if it wasn`t for my knees i`d be washing down a bacon sandwich with banana milkshake right now !
Alright that and the fact i now find i have this thread in the back of my mind when i start to feel tempted . Oh and tempted i was last night as a great friend of mine after hearing of my diet turned up with sixteen cans of 1664 and a full size Toblerone , which he left in the fridge. He refused to take them away with him either , mind you he didn`t stop cracking up the moment he arrived so probably wouldn`t have been able to carry them anyway. But you`ll be pleased to know that although i even went so far as to pick a can up i didn`t open it . One day at a time eh Also like i said this thread played it`s part since i knew if i weakened i`d have to admit it . Speaking of admitting , i`ve been doing the 50 sit ups and push ups each day. Hopefully if i lose enough i`ll be able to use the stepper again without my knees feeling like they`re fracturing , because that way i can play a console game while i exercise As for the chocolate i copped out and gave that to the woman at number 10 , which was cool as she`d taken a parcel in for me the day before . Because i know if i`d kept it in the flat i`d have eaten it , as in the WHOLE of it. Anyway the last two days i`ve cut out carbs except for eating crunchy nut cornflakes for breakfast , the last of i finished this morning. Not going to be getting anymore , instead i`ve got oat flats that i have blended into a porridge powder. Because my adopted big sister (Since she adopted herself as my sister, which is more than my actual big sister ever did) went through the roof on monday when i said i was stopping carbs completely . So i`m compromising by having some for breakfast , but then nothing else during the rest of that day. Anyway the night before i made a burger with red onions and had a stir fry with five green veg and those little corn things. Burger was good but i`m really not into veg , still i ate it. Yesterday i had the cornflakes again , then when i got back from Reading (A story coming soon) i had half the roast chicken and coleslaw , then for dinner garlic prawns and more veg stir fry , only two thirds of which i managed to get down. Then again the good news is i weighed myself this morning and i`m 17 stone / 12 pounds / 6 ounces . Of course the bad news is i`m dreaming of Friday and several lagers , with maybe some special fried rice and a half dozen racks of BBQ ribs as dessert . Hmmmm speaking of dessert i`d say a giant bag of M&Ms followed by a similar sized bag of frozen Maltesers would do the trick. Will weigh myself Friday morning and post it , then Monday morning . Which`ll give a decent impression of how much i gain in two days compared to how much i can lose over five , figure even with a bit of a blow out i should still end up going in the right direction over time

Well done on the push ups and sit ups though. I'm nearing the end of a three day fast. Doesn't sound like much, but, damn, am I hungry right now. Nothing 'til at least tomorrow. Whew, it's gonna be a long day. |

I've spent the entire afternoon picking on food. It started just before lunchtime when I finished off the chocolate biscuits I started to consume late last night, then lunch was a couple of sausage sandwiches washed down with a couple of large cups of tea (no sugar). Then shortly afterwards out come the Twiglets and shortcake biscuits, followed by some oxtail soup. Now it's teatime and the veal and ham pie I mentioned earlier is now being scoffed with new potatoes and carrots. What's for supper?
