I am pretty much like you in this respect - I'll have a Bulmers now and then though - but I can hide it because I am Max's height. I try to incorporate a lot of greens into my diet too along with a lot of colorful fruits and vegetables. There are two prevailing obsessions in my life that have been constant, one is obvious because of the forum I'm on and the other is food. I suppose my fantasy woman would be Nigella Lawson by that account.

I know when I've put on weight as I "feel" heavy ... a bit tired, a bit listless and generally just not right. I tried various diets but, to be blunt, they bored the living daylights out of me, and I eventually twigged onto the fact that my weight varies more according to how much I exercise, than how much I eat.
I did turn my back on beer and I cut out the snacking between meals, both of which were (in the main) just habits. I go for a very brisk walk for at least one hour every day (regardless of the weather) and that tends to keep my weight in check, so I can indulge in the occasional burgers, fish & chips, chocolate eclairs and Cheese & Chive crisps without any problems! If I don't feel right at any time, I simply throw in an additional 30 minute walk per day! |

That's the ticket....excercise.
I need to wrap up warm and walk for an hour 3 times per week when I get home from work. I do eat plenty of veggies and salads but it is the volume of bad stuff that does me in. Anyhow, walking, cycling when the weather picks up, less alcohol, no chips, no bread, one curry per week.....oh and lots of choking the chicken I must say thanks to the OP, the right honourable Sir Cranial Verdi for starting yet another terific thread........pray what tasks are you avoiding by dallying here tonight? |

I managed to pile on six stones of fat when I packed in smoking over 20 years ago, & have had a hell of job since, -trying to shift it! I was horrified to learn I had balooned to 19 stone & I was only 5ft 8in
Since moving to the sun & I have noticed its a little easier to diet & exercise. The key is not to crash diet but to change gradually & not expect too dramatic weight loss immediately. In six years here I have managed to get down to 93 kilos (Not sure what that is in stones they don't do old money here! ) However the demon drink does figure large here, so musn't get too complacent.
